How do I disassemble H470? I have all the screws out, but it's showing no sign of coming apart. There is a metallic looking band that has snapped off the Cartridge Carriage.

Oops! Well this could be difficult to reassemble. but I think you may be missing a screw. some times hidden under labels.

It turned out to be the 2 rear catches. Ended up snapping both of them. I found the band (I think it is read by a sensor and shows the position or movement of the Carriage) had a snapped hole on the left side. I had an older version 470, so I took the band off that, threaded it through the Cartridge Carriage and hooked it on and it works. As an experiment I soldered the broken one on to the old printer and that works too.

I read the post about the Silver Moon continualy shutting off and requiring the new hose part SES 125. However, what i have noticed with my Silver Moon is that it only shuts off when using the floor brush....

My wife has the same vacumn, and has already replaced the hose, and again it was shutting off continously with the power head.
Rather then spring another $150.00 plus for a new hose, I decided to take it apart to see if it had a shorted wire..
There are several small screws along the length of the control portion, as well as two small screws that hold the end cap (where the hose goes into the heavy plastic control part),

When I got it apart I did not see any shorted wires...however what I discvovered was where the hose "swivels" are 3 metal contact bands, and some electrical lubricant.
On the other side was a small circuit board with three paper thin copper contacts which lined up with the metal bands.
The bands looked a bit worn.
So I ever so gently bent the copper contacts out just a tiny amount further, and gently cleaned (with a bit of alcohol) the metal bands to take justy a tiny bit of what looked like an excessive amount of electrical grease.

I reassembled the unit...and so far so good.

Is it possible to disassemble the BN59-00851A Remote? I see only one screw under the batteries, and removed that, but the cover will not come apart. There must be some sort of screw or snap still holding...

I actually opened it!!!!!! You will need something super thin yet strong to get the
faceplate off pry upwards where the tabs are. I used a small screwdriver and chewed up the sides. hope you have a better way. after it is off it is easy to disassemble the rest. When putting it back on make sure the battery terminals get into their slots and just snap back on. good luck!9_29_2011_2_09_04_am.jpg9_29_2011_2_09_18_am.jpg9_29_2011_2_09_27_am.jpg

Sunbeam 5891 Bread Machine The drive belt has fractured. How does one remove the bottom cover? Where may one obtain a new belt?

The upper and lower shell snap together. I removed screws from the bottom and could not separate the shell. I them unscrewed the metal shroud from the inside and removed it. It is a tight fit. You will see the snaps inside. I pushed on a couple of the snaps and the shell came apart. I am sure you will be able to address your issue from there. I am trying to find out why the heating element won't work on my machine.

About a month ago, a red haze would pop up intermittently on any pictures or video that I was running. This haze will appear intermittenly on my screen saver also. It is pretty annoying and ruins watching...

No...fortunately your graphics card is fine.

The wiring for the screen connecting it to the keyboard side of the laptop chassis is routed through the spacing near the hinges that fasten the screen to the keyboard. So every time you open or close the laptop those wires are allowed to move and eventually the connector gets a little loose. You can remove the speaker grill and get access to the screen wiring connector. The grill simply snaps into place and can be pried open from the side with a flat head screwdriver or even just your fingers. Beneath it look for a bundle of wires wrapped in a sheath coming from behind the laptop screen and connecting near a speaker. It may not be firmly connected...have the computer powered on while pushing down on the connector on each end and look for the picture problem to resolve. If that does not work, begin disassembling the screen by removing the small tabs around the screen...the screws are behind them. Once the screws are removed, separate the screen from the laptop lid and behind it you will see other end of the wiring you inspected earlier. Secure that end as well. You will also see that around the perimeter of the screen assembly is a metal band and some metal appendage like fingers or tabs...I'm not repair professional but I do believe these are for purposes of grounding and lose firm connection over time of handling the laptop and help HP to get you to give them the call they've been expecting so they can hope for more of your money. Well skip that and make sure the tabs aren't bent from taking it apart and reassemble the screen. Lightly tighten in each screw alternating diagonally then give them a final snug fit. Then snap the grill cover/hot button assembly back into place. Hope that helps.

Need to clean HP s7410n of dust

Look in you manual or download one from here, if you don't have one.
Take a look at page 3 (or page 7 of the pdf file) and you can see a nice description on how to take the cover off.
You have to slide the cover back first, before you can actually take it off.

Enjoy the housecleaning!

Kodak easyshare c875 flash not working

I have the C875 - and had the same problem. It was out of warranty so I took it apart and found that the flex print wiring between the flash electronics and the flash unit was bad. It has 4 wire runs and at least one of them was broken. I cut the flex out and soldered in 4 fine insulated wires in its place. The flash works fine now. The hardest chore is taking the camera apart.

Warning: Wear rubber gloves since high voltage is stored in the flash capacitor even with the batteries out. I got zapped several times.

1) Remove all screws on the left side, right side, and bottom (including 2 inside the SD card door). Remove any SD card.
2) Remove the lanyard attachment fitting and then front and back covers.
3) Remove screws holding the metal center band in place. I recall there's a hidden one that's a long reach inside to remove.
4) Bend the band down to clear the tripod mounting hole and slide it off toward the front. Watch out for the fine speaker wires which will tether the band to the camera. I broke one and had to resolder it during reassembly.
5) You will see the orange colored flex leading to the flash. Snap out the flash.
6) At this point you could check the continuity of each wire to confirm the problem.
7) Cut/strip 4 wires to match the lengths of the runs. Use very fine insulated wires - 30AWG or so. Thicker wire might not fit.
8) Note the wire routing. Cut out and desolder the old flex print.
9) Solder in the new wires
10) Snap the flash back in place and dress the wires like the old flex print.
11 Reassemble. You can test it once you put the metal band back in place.

Ther C875 is a great pocket camera. One very much worth fixing.
