SOURCE: metal pieces in piston chamber

SOUNDS LIKE THE VALVES IN YOUR HEAD ARE NOT CLOSING ALL THE WAY OR HAVE FALLEN APART. THEY ARE MOST LIKELY ARE REED VALVES, THIN STRIPS OF METAL THAT OPEN AND CLOSE WHEN THE PISTON MOVES UP AND DOWN. MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL THERE AND ARE OPENING AND CLOSING ALL THE WAY. WHEN THE PISTON GOES DOWN IT CLOSES ONE SET AND OPENS THE OTHER AND VISE-VERSA. WHEN YOU REMOVE THE HEAD MAKE SURE YOU MARK IT SO YOU CAN PUT IT BACK LIKE YOU FOUND IT - NOT TURNED AROUND OR FLIPPED OVER. SERIOUSLY MARK IT !
HOPE THIS HELPS. JODY

SOURCE: Recently obtained an older piston air compressor

Energair 3B30E30B would be the brand. All you need to do, and those reviewing this post, is google the model number of most anything, this will in most cases bring up information about that product. In a general description: make, model and serial numbers are like identification tags and names on vehicles. Make being the brand name (Ford, Dodge, RCA, etc.), Model obviously being the name of that Make (comprise of letters, numbers or both) and serial numbers are like the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on your car or truck, each unit has one unique to itself. what im getting at here is you can look these things up just as if you were looking for an item for your car on ebay, the most important keyword being the model of your car. This strategy can be applied to almost everything that has a model number, simply enter the model number and/or any other keywords into any search engine like Google and there you have it, an internet full of information. Note: using too many keywords may not return any results, I would suggest starting with just the model number to be sure it can be found. I hope this helps.

Piston ring for campbell WL506206AI

Most parts lists only show the motor/pump assy (WL373000AJ) for your compressor. Campbell-Hausfeld does however have a breakdown of the motor assy and shows the piston/cylinder assy (WL210300SJ) being available for your compressor. It would be available from any C-H repair center or online at sites like eReplacementparts.com. That is the only way the piston, piston ring and cylinder parts are available, you cannot buy just the piston ring even though that's the main fail part in this assembly.

Have a Stanley J45C09 450 AMP Jump Starter w/Compressor. Mortor runs but does not generate any pressuer.

If you get no pressure but the motor is running, there is a good possibility that a pin has separated from the piston fly wheel. This is very easy to fix. Unscrew all the screws on the bottom (including the eight smaller screws that hold the battery terminals) and lift up the cover. Look at the compressor (start with the air pressure valve and work to the compressor) and locate where the piston is. It is located at the side of the unit. The connecting rod will be noticeable loose (use your finger to locate the looseness if you need to) and once finding it Just connect it to the compressor. There will probably be a link within the case that has come loose and because it is not connected, the air from the compressor is not being carried to the hose. Just put in the link and presto - it should be fix.

I have a Stanley Bostitch Oil Free Air Compressor 6.0 Gal 2.0 Hp Peak, 1.5 Hp Running 135 Psi The problem is it won't blow out air or hold the air.. How can I fix this?

Some Bostitch compessors are very unique in that they intake air from below the piston. If you cannot find an air filter, then your compessor has reed valve built into the piston that may cause problems. If you have an air filter on the head of the pump, then you have reed valves in the head. When the reed valves fail, there will be very little or no air pressure. Second problem with all compressors is the in-tank check valve. This valve allows air to enter the tank and not back-out into the compressor. Easy to check. Add air into tank with another compressor thru the quick connect and listen for air leaking around the head or pressure switch. If no leaks and pressure holds in the tank then valve ok. Examine the condition of the cylinder and piston ring by rotating the crank by hand so that the piston is at top of cylinder. Look for scratches around upper part of cylinder wall. If scratches, then replace cylinder and piston ring. If top of cylinder looks good, then suspect reed valves. Good luck

My Makita MAC2400 runs for a long time before it buuilds up pressure.

Probably has a piston sealing issue.(piston sleeve and ringseal aren't sealing as they should) Check owners manual exploded parts listing to get either the piston kit or appropriate parts for the repair.

BostitchCAP60-OF won't pressure up past 95lb and keeps running

This comperssor is oiless thus has a vinyl piston ring that wears quite fast depending on use and conditions at the work site. Slow pressure build or cycle never completes indicates a worn cylinder and piston ring. I would replace the cylinder, piston ring, valve plate, and intake valve. These parts are not expensive and available at www.bostitch.com. enjoy
