My Samsung galaxy has been frozen for 4 hours. I have tried the power off button and volume up but no response.

Try removing the back cover and then take the battery out for 10 seconds. Then power the phone on.

1. If your Samsung Galaxy S II is frozen, Shut the POWER OFF, take the battery out and put it back again.

you need to force a hard boot.

Volume UP + Home + Power

To Hard Reset Samsung Galaxy S
1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Galaxy S is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

If YES is selected, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from your Samsung Galaxy S. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.
and you should get to the reset option menu.

METHOD TO RESET GALAXY

STEP 1: Switch off your phone, remove its battery, and then place it back.

STEP 2: Now, hold the Volume Down button and Power button. And then release the Power button while still holding the Volume Down button.

STEP 3: Now you will get a list of options to choose from. Which would be like:

  • Fastbook
  • Recovery
  • Clear Storage
  • Simlock

STEP 4: There, choose the Clear Storage option.

NOTE: Use Volume UP and Volume Down keys for navigation and Power or Home button for selection.

STEP 5: Now confirm by pressing Volume Up button (YES) or Volume Down (NO).

That is it! Now, you Galaxy S will reboot and you will find that you have reset your Galaxy S to factory settings.

if you forget your lock code try to reset your phone in ths easy way...but i want you to know that all of your data will be deleted...

here is the instruction...

have you tried to replace a new battery pack? if you do and still the problem is here ,you have a software problem in your phone ...to fix that your phone needs to flash a new and updated firmware in a certified mobile technician shop..but before you do that and spend a lot of money,try to hard reset your phone...here is how..
