Question about Sharp 25N-M100 25" TV

2 Answers

Speakers I want to put my speakers into the audio RCA in the back on tv, they fit, but they are not coming through. Want to use my speakers, opposed to the tv speakers. Is there a way to switch over to my speakers on my sharp model 325F560, serial B704871019? Please! They worked great on my old Zenith. Thank you!

Thank you guys. You are right Bill about the switch on my Zenith. I have not seen a sub menu on this tv. I just went to menu and I have audio select and audio digital and it skips over the audio digital, where I cannot even click onto it! What is going on? And on audio select, it shows MTS, SAP and FAO, I do no know what they stand for. This tv did not come with a manual. I read the manual online. Never had this trouble with any tv in the past. Help! Please!

Tvs are wired differently these days. Your old Zenith for example probably had a selector switch that allowed you to change from internal or external speakers, bandpassing the audio from the internal amplifier to the audio out connectors. Your Sharp on the other hand may be controlled by customer menu to perform the same function as the external switch. Go into the menu and sub-menu of the audio and see if it gives you any choices for selecting internal or external speakers... If it doesn't it probably will not bandpass the already amplified signal, which means if you want to listen to your Tv on those external speakers you'll first have to pass the audio sample through an amplifier.
Hope this helps.

    chimchim,

First things first you can click on this link and download a copy of your owner's manual.. http://www.sharpusa.com/products/TypeMan...

Just scroll down to your model number and left click to save as and set it on your desktop. Or email me I'll send you a copy..

    (2) SAP and MTS are a type of audio signal. SAP stands for second audio programming and if available is a second audio carrier/channel sent on top of the normal RF signal. MTS merely stands for Multichannel Tv Sound which is a stereo channel added to the NTSC standard, which includes the SAP audio channel for special use. It allows for reception of stereo or bilingual sound. Lastly FAO or Fixed Audio Output which is probably what you have selected...

    (3) All that said, you're probably not going to be able to immediately hear any sound from the line/out in your external speakers until you pass it through an external amplifier, like your stereo.. (If your stereo has an available input.) Just plug into the back of the Tv - like you were doing - and put those connectors into your stereo (input) and then switch the stereo to that input and you should have plenty of sound...

    Hope this helps!

Adding speakers

HelloThere is audio output from the TV at its back. They will be marked as [Audio Out]. Connect these sockets with any audio IN socket of an amp or so, whichever you uses to hear audio, with an RCA cable twins. Set the TV speaker option to OFF. To make TV option to OFF, get into its menu, surf through, annd come to AUDIO window. Here you can choose the audio option. Select the last 'TV Speaker ON", and make it OFF. Now the audio from the speakers of the TV will get OFF. You can use the amp you connected to hear audio from TV.RCA cable will look as below. It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town. Ok12_19_2011_2_27_50_pm.jpg

How to add an Exterior Speaker to Sony KV-13M10

Welcome to FixYa!

To add an exterior speaker to Sony KV-13M10, you have to have an AMPLIFIER.
  • At the back of your TV you will be able to see 3 RCA output namely = VHF/UHF, Audio and Video.
  • Use an RCA cable and connect to the Audio output.
  • At the back of your amplifier, connect the other end of the RCA cable to an RCA input labeled Audio - L (left, usually in white color).
  • Your speaker should be connected to your amplifier labeled output or audio out. The connection type depends on the make and model of your amplifier. The speaker wires usually come in red and black color. red goes to red, black goes to white.

A simple diagram will look like this:

TV audio out -------------> amplifier audio in (left, white color) amplifier audio out (left, white color) -----------> speaker (black wire) amplifier audio out (right, red color) ------------> speaker (red wire)

Thank you for using FixYa.
Have a great day.

They will stay on if you are just hooking up the speakers. If you want the TV speakers to shut off, use a stereo system or something to switch audio inputs.

Some actual model numbers would make this conversation more relevant.

If your PC speakers are self-powered they should accept the RCA output from any device that provides headphone or Line Level audio.

Where is the TV audio actually coming FROM? Maybe a Cable Box? THAT is where the PC speaker should tap in.

Many TV's have a Fixed or variable audio output. Fixed allows for disabing the TV speakers or turning its volume down without affecting the audio out to other devices.

How do I wire up my Logitech X540 Speaker system to my Lg tv?

Most TV's nowadays, have audio out RCA jacks that will allow you to send audio from the TV, to an alternate source. These speakers do come with an adapter that allows you to hook up RCA red and white audio cable, and plug them into the adapter, which goes from the RCA jack to a 1/8 in female headphone style jack. You would then need to get a 1/8 in audio cable that has two male ends, and plug that into the back of your sub woofer in the front speakers port. But this really isn't going to give you very good sound quality being it's not giving you true 5.1 surround sound, even with the matrix feature enabled!

How do i hook external speakers to sony bravia television

The proper way to do this would be to use the audio output from the TV, either analogue left and right or the optical port, and send it into an dedicated amplifier or AV receiver. You can then use the amplifier or receiver to power the external speakers. If you are using a dedicated amplifier with no volume control you will want to change the audio output setting on the TV to "variable out" as oppose to its current "fixed out"settings. You can find this in the TV menu, usually under the audio settings. This will allow you to use the current TV remote to adjust the audio volume coming out of the external speakers.

Mike
The biggest reason is the input on your TV will be stuck in DVD mode. Therefore the set expects any audio to becoming from the DVD player and not inputs on the back of the set. So every input on the back of the TV except for the component input is non functioning. Another reason is that you have no way to control the volume of the TV since there are no functioning buttons save the power button.

If you cut the speaker wire in the TV and solder to the respective RCA connections on the back or side of the TV you can treat the speakers passively, meaning there must be some sort of amplifier to power them. You could also just splice some wire to the cut speaker wire to extend the speaker connection to an amplifier, but I'm not a fan of loose wires coming from the back of my TV.

Therefore, using this set up you would have your cable box attached to your TV and an amplifier of some sort, and the amplifier attached to the RCA connections you soldered for the speakers.

Here's an amplifier that would work for fifty bucks:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-958

To turn the TV on just make sure the power button is pressed (this will put the TV in standby) and then press any other button on the side of the TV: Source, volume, any of them will work.

In order for your cable box's remote to work it will need to be programmed for the TV. I have been unable to find the program codes for the TV, but I do know that Comcast's cable remote will work if you do the code search. You do need to reconnect all the grounds that you disconnected as well.

Let me know if you run into anything else
