I have a Zanussi ZHQ575 X Double oven, the main oven will not work when I select the Fan Oven setting. I have tried a new selector switch but it still will not work on this setting. The fan comes on but...

I have the same problem.... It's not the element gents, please read the question again... the oven heats up on the other settings it's just when you select fan oven (the most popular) I too have tried replacing the selector switch with no luck. Really need a wiring diagram.

Have had 4 Neff oven elements in 2 years, why does this keep happening ? B14241 single oven element keeps blowing, grill and light are fine, any ideas please ? is it time for a new oven ?

If you are not fitting genuine
elements, this is probably the reason they are failing so quickly.
You will pay a lot more for the genuine article, but they will last a lot longer.
Also make sure the fan is working o/k, as this can cause premature element failure.
please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Remove cover at rear of oven compartment, there you will see the element.
Undo fixing screw(s), carefully pull the element towards you, remove wires, be careful not to lose them inside ,and fit onto new element.
Refit element and rear cover.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

GE J BP27G R1AD Oven Not Heating Fully

Hi Jeff. You should have a wiring diagram with the range. Check for an envelope on the back of the range, inside the back splash, or taped to the inside side wall of the range if you remove the lower drawer. That all being said, first check to see if the start or stop time knobs on the timer have been pushed in (and possibly turned). If the clock runs, it will clear this out within 12 hours, but on these old ranges often times the clock no longer runs. Make sure these knobs are turned until they have "popped" out or you won't get the necessary voltage where you need it. Secondly, when a bake element burns out, it can cause damage to the electrical contacts in the oven selector switch (part number WB22X5122 ) which can be tested with an ohm meter if you can find the electrical diagram. Also, the oven thermostat (part number WB21X5320 ) can be damaged in the same way. Unfortunately, these parts for these old units are not very cheap.
The little bit of heat you are getting in your oven now is most likely only from the 120 volts going to the broiler element when in Bake. During Bake, your bake element should get 240 volts (until thermostat is satisfied). Setting to Broil should give 240 to the broil element.

Zanussi electric oven.

The problem is usually a contactor or relay. The thermostat usually doesn't directly control the elements. Follow the wiring diagram or look at the wires from the thermostat. they usually go to a small box and then to the elements The contacts may sometimes stick or always stick. This part is a lot cheaper than the thermostat. Another problem is a burned out element. (Usually the bake element) This can short to ground and not let it turn off. When the elements are on they should glow evenly all over with no hot spots. Look at the broil element also. It is usually at least part way on during baking.

Jenn Air W241 bake element not working

Most ovens are relatively simple; an element and a switch/thermostat. Usually it's one or the other that goes bad. If you have a good Volt/Ohm meter you can test the parts saving you un-needed expense.
A Volt/Ohm meter will pay for itself in parts and safety.
A service manual with circuit diagram will go a long way in saving you time and money. Most service manuals are available online for free as a PDF file.
Happy baking. Photo is a pizza baked at 300 o F with Pizzacraft brand pizzeria flour purchased online.
