Question about Freecom ToughDrive 3.0 Mobile Hard Drive 1TB 97711

Open Question

How can I fix my Freecom Toughdrive 1TB? When I plug in my device, I only see this weird 62.4mb USBDISK and I couldn't see the 1TB drive anymore.

I need help on how to recover my 1TB Freecom Toughdrive 3.0. Suddenly when I plugged in my hard drive to my laptop, I saw this weird USBDISK drive with 62.4mb capacity. I noticed that I couldn't see the 1TB disk anymore, and I haven't done anything that could break this hard drive. Is there a possibility to recover this drive? I don't care if the files will not be restored as long as I can put back the hardrive back to its normal condition. Hope you can help me, I've been sending emails for freecom support but as of now, no one's answering me. This drive is still under warranty but I bought this outside my country and claiming the warranty is almost impossible. Thanks a lot!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: I need to intall a

Unfortunately, the company only supported: OS: Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / Mac OS X v10.3 or higher and Time Machine (OS X v 10.5 Leopard) compatible, for their USB hard drives.

You would need someone to write a driver for you or to connect to a computer with a supported OS.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Export saved emails from toughdrive, import to my laptop

A little more information. What email program are you using Outlook express? Outlook?

If you are using outlook express open it. go to File / Import / Messages.

select the type of program the emails are in when you saved them to the external harddrive.
click next select import mail from OE6 or whichever you had from above. and click ok.  then click browse. and find the drive the email was saved on. then click the folder you have the emails saved in. and click ok. ( it may be easier to save the email folder to your desktop of your computer and just browse to your desktop).

click next select your folder you want the emails to go to and finish the emails will be imported

I accidentally plugged in my 19v toshiba laptop adapter to my 16v 1tb external hard drive it started up but then i plugged it out soon is it possible that the hard drive will work or is it dead, if no

The electronics in the hard drive is damaged and cannot be repaired by us mortals.
There are companies that can recover data from damaged hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

HD suddenly asks for Password, never set one!

The password-protection program is designed to protect your files, so that if in case your HD is stolen, any important files will remain intact in the HD.

You have to refer to the use manual of the HD and look for the default password. Since you mentioned that you never set any passwords, it means that the HD is still using the default or manufacturer's password or code. Check the manual and you should find it there.

Or you may want to contact the tech support of the manufacturer and see if they could give you the default password.

Thank you and good luck!

Is this a SATA drive and what operating system is loaded on it? .
you may have to insert the installation disk to reset the password.
There is a Linux program on the internet to reset the password to default but there is no guarantee to this. This is for Windows XP
2. You can also get some one with a Linux box to view and backup your data on another hard drive but the PC will have to be compatible to accommodate the hard drive capacity.
3. Try not entering a password at all when in the password/ user screen "hit enter"

Window 7 and Freecom Touchdrive

May be it does not have a compatible driver for the drive. Launch the Add/Hardware wizard and use it to search for a driver on the internet. If a driver is available windows will download and install it.These driver issues usually happen with new operating systems. Even Vista had these problems when it first came out.
