Question about DSC Wt5500 - Alexor 2-way Wireless Lcd Keypad

1 Answer

My DSC Wt5500 Alexor Wireless keypad not keeping correct time even after changing batteries. Is there something in the programming I need to do to get it right? Thanks!

I have just installed a complete system which was purchased new several years ago (4 years to be exact) but had been stored. Everything seems to be working fine except the clock. I have put in new batteries and find that several hours later the clock is not keeping correct time (it is slow). Reset it again and still same problem. Am I not doing something right? Thanks!

I am assuming that the keypad was successfully enrolled? Try to reprogram time. Time should be coming from the main unit and not the keypad itself.

Master Code
24 hour time (ie 2pm= 1400)
Date Format mm/dd/yy

Keypad should confirm successful entry by beeping rapidly three times

press # a couple times to get out of programming

After exiting programming the display should come up within 30 seconds or so displaying the date and time before it goes back to sleep.

How do I check a wireless garage door keypad, to see if it is transmitting?

These remotes don't loose the programming code when a battery goes dead, most likely the remote or the board on the opener went bad, do any other remotes work? You can take the remote to an auto parts store and test it there. (They have a tester for key fobs)

How do you change the battery?

you need to change the battery in your main control panel, the keypad does not have a battery installed. somewhere you should have a white metal box installed, open the box and you will see a black battery. remove it and take it with as a sample. be sure to check your power supply as low battery normally means that the battery is not recieving power to charge. take a multimeter and test the voltage before changing the battery.

DSC Alarm system

It could be the battery in the main box or the power adapter for that box. First make sure that wall adapter is plugged in and that that outlet has power ( plug something else, like a lamp, in.) If the outlet is good and the adapter was plugged in properly you will need a multimeter to check the battery or adapter or you could just try a new battery.

How do i get the dsc pk5501 to call my phone when an alarm is activated? Is it even possible? also how do i change the exit delay time and delay time upon entry? thanks

The alarm panel will only transmit data over a phone line. It is intended to call a central station. You could put your phone number in the panel, but all you would hear when you answered would be sounds similar to a fax machine. There are external voice dialers available that you could trigger from your panel that would call you with a recording.

The link below has many installation manuals for different DSC panels including programming information for your entry/exit delays. The link will take you to the DSC page. You'll need to look for the model of your panel, not the PK5501 keypad.

Hope this helps.

How do I set my alarm, I have the code for it but no instruction manual

You can just enter the code on the keypad and the system will arm in 'away' mode, meaning it will arm all zones and it will expect there to be no one in the home or business The keypad should beep and show that the system is arming up. If it does not, then you didn't enter a valid user code and you will need to contact your alarm installing company to provide you with a valid user code, but also it appears, some information on the use of the system.

It sounds like the keypad is not compatible with the main garage door. Make sure the keypad is the correct only for that model number opener. Older models will not work with newer openers and vice versa.
