Disconnect (-) ground cable from battery and replace alternator. Reinstall the (-) ground cable after installing the alternator to avoid arcing and possible damage to the new alternator. Always wear safety glasses when working with car batteries. An explosion and acid burn hazard exist.

Installing arc fault interrupter with ground fault

If you meant arch fault with ground fault then no, the two types interfere with each other and trip the breaker as one senses an arch and the other grounding.
If you meant ground fault breaker with a GFCI. receptacle, you only need one of the two, either GFCI. breaker or receptacle.

and for circuits, you can put up to 12 devices (i.e receptacle, light)assuming they consume 1 amp each. Anything over 12 amps or 80% of the rating on the breaker, it will trip/reset.
Or if your talking about wires on a breaker then no more than 2 wires recommended. Try adding a junction box outside the panel if your trying to add other branch circuits or tap off of a receptacle.

Installing arc fault interrupter with ground fault

Question is vague. Arc fault and ground fault are slightly different.

Are you installing arc fault breaker?
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-GFCI.html#arc-fault
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-replace-circuit-breaker.html

Code says Maximum 12 boxes per circuit breaker.

Arc fault breaker and GFCI outlet in bathroom?
>>> do not connect this way.
Do not install 2 fault protections on same circuit.
Install the arc fault circuit breaker, and then remove bathroom GFCI, and replace with ordinary outlet, or switch-outlet.

How many outlets can be connected to a bathroom GFCI?
It depends on total boxes on circuit.
Count the boxes. Max 12 boxes per circuit breaker.

How many amps can be connected to 15 amp device?
15 x 80% = 12 amps
Electricians use 80% rule to calculate safe maximum

Bobcat welder wont arc and the generator doesnt produce electricity

I had the same problem with another welder, if you have plug in or bolt on cables, unplug them

and clean them with a copper brush so that they can make a good connection, check your ground

clamp make sure its making a good connection as well as the electrode holder. if you have access

to an ohm meter make sure your machine is turned off when testing. set the ohm meter to rx1

and connect one side to the ground side of your machine and the other to the clamp at the end

of your cable if the reading is 0.00 a closed loop its good if all it does is flash you have an open. do

the same on the arc side. if you do find an open you may have to redo the connections. good luck!

Weld arc not stable. Wire feeds, good ground,

Arc blow could be the cause! Put your ground on the work piece and weld away from it. If you weld toward a ground clamp the magnetic forces will blow your arc around sometime. When taking a cert this simple mistake can make or break ya on your cap or reinforcement beads.

Hi, I live in Argentina and I have a kenmore 96093800 Dryer. This Machine has 120/240v and his plug has 4 pins. Two pins are flat, one pin is cilindric, and the fourth pin is en angule. How can I connect...

Are you connecting this Dryer cord to the Dryer or are you looking for a wall plug with this same configuration to plug into. This is a standard double ground configuration and you can buy the wall receptacle at a hardware store. Your house should have 4 wires to this, 2 lines, a neutral, and a ground. As always the recommendation is that you have an electrician install your house receptacle. Your Dryer power cord is something you can install however. The two outside terminals on your dryer 240 volt wiring block are connected to the two outside wires on your power cord. It does not matter which wire goes to which side. Your two inside wires on the power cord are connected like this. One to the middle terminal on your 240 volt dryer terminal block and one is connected to the dryer case itself. Again it does not matter which wire goes to which ground. Make sure all of your connections are tight, as loose terminals eventually burn up. Do Not plug in your dryer power cord until everything is hooked up tight. I actually had a customer plug in his cord and then try to connect the wires to the dryer. The wires arced together and blew the terminals into molten metal which burned this customers hands and face. Do not do and electical repair unless you know what you are doing. On your cord the two straight terminals are line terminals, the round and L shaped terminals are grounds or neutrals. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

I hooked up wires as described. I smell elecrical

If the dryer has been sitting for a while, that may just be dust or lint that has gotten stirred up inside the dryer and ended up on the heating element. This is normal and it will go away. This often occurs after the dryer has been moved or cleaned.

However, just in case, you may want to review your power cord installation one more time. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575913-installing_a_220_vac_appliance_cord

Verify your installation paying particular attention to how to you have terminated the Ground and Neutral wires. Make sure the terminals are tight and not loose. Loose connections can cause arcing and excessive current which results in burned wiring or melted insulation. If it is correct, make sure you don't have any heavy accumulations of dust or lint inside the dryer cabinet. If the odor does not go away within a day, stop using the appliance and let me know. I hope this helps you.

two hot red and black 110 volts each, 2 grounds, 1 installed in the middle screw and one to the body chasis in a mobile home after removing the copper bridge, standard home has only 1 ground and needs to use the copper bridge from the middle screw or ground and the body chasis, if your getting juice, TURN OFF THE POWER, Then tighten all 3 screws inside your pigtail plug to make sure your getting a good connection.
