  • Bill Boyd Apr 12, 2015

try going on line for free radio codes for ( your make , model and serial number of the unit0

Contact the manufacturer and see if you can get a code from the customer service or technical section. IT may even be on a tag fixed to the unit.

It sounds like you may have a stuck or bad switch. Try checking to see if any of the buttons are jammed. If they all seem fine, you will need to check the switches with a multimeter set to check resistance.

Cd player no longer reads that a cd is plugged. can I fix that?

Try resetting the deck by unhooking the connector. Every deck I have had will reset and spit the cd out when you hook it back up.

I have a JVC KD-95 Cassette Deck. My left speaker Comes and goes lots of crackling. When I turn off the deck it crackles loudly then fades. my speakers work fine when using cd, radio etc.

Probably it's the playing head; must be damaged or worned out.. Accept fact; cassette players are outdated. make a listing of your favorite music and stat finding them on line.
By the way, even youtube rips are better quallity then thos cassette recors.

Just brought my car and it has a JVC KD-SX840 installed.....radio works fine but the cd player doesn't....when a disk is presented into the slot what appears to be two metal bars stop the cd from entering...

are you sure there is not a cd in the deck already?????? you can try resetting the deck. there maybe a reset switch (a small hole about the size of a pencil tip on either the face or the subpanel) or disconnect power to the radio for a few minutes.

My clarion cd player in my boat was working fine now it says amp grd. I have looked but i see nothing unhooked what can i do to get sound out of my speakers?

Remove all the speaker wires.

Power the radio back on and verify it is not the radio at fault.

If it powers up, check the speakers with a Digital Multimeter set to OHMS 20x.

Each speaker should have a resistance of 4 ohms. (or 8 in some cases)

Any variance (+/- .5ohms) means the voicecoil is blown, and replace that speaker.

JVC KD-LH300 no sound on cd or radio anymore

was there a pop or anything, if so it could of been the audio chip in the radio,

also depending on the type of car, does it have f factory amp to? best way to troubleshhot this is if you have a seprate speaker you could hook up to a lead off the back of a deck :-)

Power will not stay on

Sounds like you're not getting voltage on the accessory power lead. This is the red wire at the back of the deck, and it supplies power whenever the key is switched on. It's possible that your vehicle's radio fuse is blown.

Cassette player works fine, then screeches after 20-30 minutes.

Yeppers very common problem .. If the noise dosent come from the speakers then the problem is in the motor in the cassette deck. if the problem comes from the speakers when the deck is playing a tape, then the problem is in the record/playback switch. you may beable to fix it by spraying just a lttle bit of tuner cleaner inside the switch. It shouldnt cost much to have a repair shop do this as if you spray too much your going to ruin the belts and the mechanism. Good Luck
