Why is the SP light flashing when the machine has filled with water and is ready to go

sp is the code for stand by or pause
so if you have set a soak period then it will stay there until the soak period has finished
if it is sp and you have pressed pause/start extra time the machine is in pause mode until you press start again

Fills, goes 4 minutes and fills, pauses, then fills, pauses then fills, over and over

Sounds like its syphoning out the water. If it was overfilling, you would have water everywhere, the machine would eventually flood. Check the drain hose. Make sure the end is higher than the water level in the machine and that there are no extensions running outside which have an end lower than the water level in the machine, it will start syphoning, usually after the first pump out.

My GE washing machine stops agitating for quite sometime and then will restart sometimes on its own or when I lift the lid. It is a WBSE209oA0ww

Ok thanks for reposting with the model number,

Now then my other question is; does it spin without pausing such as it pauses in the agitation mode??

If yes it does also pause in the spin mode i would suspect the lid switch as being the problem, but however you did not mention that it pauses in the spin i am going to assume it spins fine and thusly believe the problem with it pausing only in the wash mode is going to a problem with the main control board, sincein the past on that exact style washer the water level part of that control board would think it wasn't full of water and pause while it finally determined that the water level was correct and start again. By replacing the control board the washer should work fine and no longer pause in the wash mode.

The part number for that control board is WH12X10176 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at

I have a Whirlpool Gas Dryer LGR6646BI-12 the clothes feel warm but not hot and they are still damp

The Dryness Level allows adjustment of how damp or dry the clothes are at the end of the cycle.
  1. Make sure the correct Cycle has been selected for the type of fabric being dried.
  2. If the correct cycle is selected and the clothes are still coming out too damp, use the Auto Dry Level button (Kenmore) or Dryness Level button to increase the Dryness level.

  1. If the highest Dryness Level setting was selected and the clothes are still damp, the Customer Focused Drying Mode settings that are built into the machine can be adjusted.
Dryers come from the factory set to Drying Mode 1 (default). Drying Modes 2 and 3, include additional drying time.
Note: This change will affect ALL Auto Dry cycles.
  1. Machine MUST be in Standby mode before beginning. (Standby mode = Plugged in, Power off)

  1. To select drying modes, momentarily press the Auto Dry Level button (Kenmore) or Dryness Level button (Whirlpool) again. The dryer will beep, and the display will flash and show the next drying mode number.
  1. With the door open and the display flashing the desired drying mode number, press the Start button to save the drying mode and exit diagnostics.
  1. Press the Pause/Cancel key at any time to cancel changes and exit from this mode.
Hope this works............

After changing the toner cartridge at my sharp al 1552 the red light (signaling that the toner runs out) doesn't get out, although the exchange has been carried out according to the instuctions. What can I...

2 possibilities. One is that the cartridge you installed is used or bad. Turn the machine off then on...it should run for several minutes. See if the light goes out. The toner light by the way is the light that looks like 6 little dots in a stack. If the light you have on looks like a little barrel or battery then that is the drum light. You can reset that light with this procedure.
Reset the drum count by pressing "Clear" then "Exposure Mode" then "Clear" then "Exposure Mode"
Exposure mode is far left key on panel. You need to do this fairly quickly so that the display goes blank.
Once display goes blank then key in 24, then press print, then key in 7, then press print. You should now be getting flashing 000
Turn machine off then on and light should be gone.
Short version: C,far left,C,far left,24,print,7,print

Keep stopping pausing

If you leave the machine to itself, will it go through the whole wash satisfactorily? If it does, then the start and stop is designed into it. What it is doing is stopping and reversing the washing action. That is so the clothes will not wind up in a long rope shape, like the winding up of a towel like you use to do to a towel to snap your bother or sister in the showers or at the pool. It UNWINDS the load... It goes a few turns one way, then pauses, then a few turns the other way and pauses. Hope this helps..... 2529817.gif

LG Washing Machine All-in-One

Some magic happened today!

I got the thing (wd-12331ad) to dry without having to run a wash first!

Also, I seemed to get it to do a spin only run...

The way to get it to dry :
-----------------------------------
(for a set time - I've not managed to get any of the auto-dry settings to work)
from machine being off:
> press the power button.
> press the "Dry" button 'til "Time" lights up
>>> press "Dry" again to get the desired duration
> press the spin button 'til the spin speed shows blank/ the RPM light goes out.
> press "Start/Pause"

It will then dry for the number of minutes specified!

Not perfect, I know but that's serious progress from where I was before; having to re-run a wash cycle to get it to dry anything...

Something to note:
- The machine worryingly sounds like it's starting to fill with water when you start the "Just Dry" program which scared me at first. BUT it stops after a second or so (I think it's just cleaning out the detergent tray so it doesn't bake any leftover powder)

For "spin only" from machine being off:
-------------------------------------------------------
> press the power button.
> press the spin button
>>> if you press "Start/Pause" now you get a 13 minute 1200 spin cycle
>>> press the spin button again and then "Start/Pause", it seems to drain itself for 1 minute
>>> pressing spin repeatedly, cycles through the spin speeds.

Things I don't know:
----------------------------
- I don't know if you can combine spin and heat.
- I don't know whether the auto-dry programs are available
- I don't know what other programs are available from the "Dry"/"Spin" buttons

...So if anyone does any experimenting, please let us know the results, you never know, we might end up with a half way useful set of instructions! I'm starting to think the machine's not half as bad as it seems when following the manual alone.

Hope that helps.
Will
