Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Vertical Lines When I try to make a copy with my Lexmark x4270 printer it has a veritcal line running through it . When I try to align the cartridge it says aligment problems.

There is probably toner on the scanning glass.

open printer, remove toner look at the bottom there should be a 6 inch long 0.5 cm wide leds or glass. wipe it clean.

X4270 won't copy after replacing black cartridge. It did run an alignment page, however.

Try this approach:
  1. On the printer operator panel, on Copy mode, press Options.
  2. Select Maintenance.
  3. Select Clean Cartridges
Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
Try to print your document again to verify that Copying is properly functioning now.

I have a lexmark x4270 printer- black ink cartridge # 71 when printing the words are only partially printed the cartridge is a year old but was unopened until now I tried soaking in warm soapy water no...

unplug the power cord from the outlet and wait 3 or 4 minutes.
Plug it back in and choose the alignment program.
a sheet of paper will print out a series of lines and etc.
once finished , the printer cartridge is alligned properly and will print nice and clear.

There are black vertical lines going down the middle of the page whne i copy or scan and fax documents. What is the problem.

It could be due to some dirt on the scan lens on the printer. Refer to this article on How to Clean the Scan Lens and White Roller on the Lexmark X4250/ X4270/ F4270. I hope this helps.

Each line of text is printing multiple times, lines overlap, and printing

Hello. That's an alignment problem in the printer. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Clean the nozzles using a damp paper towel. But, if it's possible, try to use new cartridges. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When the printer's ready, re-insert the cartridges. Let it print an alignment page all the way through.

I put new color cartridge in but no matter how much I clean it .. the blue still prints with broken lines and it says can not align

Aside from dirty contacts, the only time I've experienced that is when the cartridge wasn't totally seated--I don't know if it'll help, but you might trying re-installing or trying another cartridge.

Gain new cartridges, possible that application time ended in yours.

Try to clean nozzles of cartridges by humid (wet) fabrics

Poor and inconsistent quality from the black ink.

the problem seems to be un-even distribution of ink. try a different and new ink cartridge. Since you are refilling the cartridge, the ink inside of the cartridge is getting magnetized, there by, the ink stick to the drum of the cartridge and don't distribute the ink evenly. shake would clear it. you need to demagnetized the drum.

I have a X7170 it has recently began printing with vertical blank areas on the printed copy. In other words up and down on the page there missing copy. I have changed ink cartridges and this does not help....

Uneven vertical lines can be adjusted by
performing the printhead alignment adjustments.
The user is directed through the Lexmark Solution
Center to perform the printhead alignment
adjustments when replacing a printhead cartridge.
The alignment can also be performed from the
control panel by selecting the Maintenance Option,
then Align Cartridges.

New cartridges - printer not printing

Align your cartridges to solve print quality problems such as: • Characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin. • Vertical, straight lines are wavy. 1 Load paper in the paper support. 2 On the control panel, press Copy. 3 Press Options until Maintenance appears. 4 Press the right arrow until Align Cartridges appears, and then press Select. An alignment page prints. Once this page prints, your automatic alignment is complete.

Two black vertical lines appear on copy, pdf, and scan results

  1. Unplug the power cord and the phone line from the wall.
  2. Open the control panel.
  3. Pull the roller lever forward, and then lift the white roller out of the All-In-One.
  4. Note: The scan lens is located under the white roller.
  5. Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water to wipe the white roller and the scan lens.
  6. Reinstall the white roller.
  7. Reconnect the power cord and the phone line.
  8. And then try to copy if get the dame line then its the hardware problem in the printer you must need to replace the scanner unit in the printer ..
