I think the way it looks you will have to unscrew the bar and put it in the hole then put the part back together. You may have to move your base one way or another to do this as well.
Try moving your base up or down or side ways before you unscrew it as well You may have to just line it up to make it work.

Looking at the picture, I am not entirely sure, but it looks like the hole that holds the end of the rod with the adjusting nut, is split. It looks like the rod would just fall back out, true?

That rod is called the front draft rod. If the split is not too big, then slide the short end of the rod into the hole. Rotate it through the hold when you get to the bend. Slide the long leg of the L all the way down till the large adjusting nut makes contact.

The cutting deck needs to be supported up off the floor. I use 12" pieces of 4x4, under both sides of the deck, to keep the deck raised. You cannot get the short leg of the L through the hole in the bracket on the deck support if the deck is on the ground.

The picture below shows how the Front Draft Rod looks on another machine.

SOURCE: Deck belt broken, l need

Hi,

You will find the diagram on the left side of the deck as you sit on tractor by left foot. It will be located under the foot pedal that has the routing diagram specifically for your Troy-Bilt mower model. Note that owner's manuals may not have the most current schematic.

Also you can check this link to download the diagram:-

raise the back as high as you like but unless you raise the front as well it will still cut short. If you want it higher and there appears there is no adjustment left you may have to re thread the adjusting screws to shorter dimensions or if it is on levers you may have to drill new holes further up the bars.

How do I repair height adjustment on a CMM1200?

The front wheels link to the height adjustment controlled at the right rear wheel. The spring loaded link arm attaches to a pin on the height adjustment control. The link arm has come off the pin.

Tools: Long shaft bladed screwdriver and a pry bar.

Adjust the rear height adjustment so the second to last notch is engaged.

Position yourself with one knee on the front deck. This will allow you to control the height of the front and the back-n-forth movement of the link arm.

Position the pry bar with the short "L" section upwards, under the lawnmower. This will allow you to control the side-to-side position of the link arm.

Insert the screwdriver from the rear of the lawnmower. The rear wheel axle can be used for leverage This will allow you to control the up-and-down position of the control arm.

A little perseverance and you will be able to position the link arm back on the pin. It may be useful to remove the plastic cover of the lawnmower to allow a better view of the mechanism and link arm

I have a troy bilt 17.5 hp pony riding manual lawnmower and my belt located above the deck keep jumping off track after engaging the blades a couple of times,do i need to tighte my belt,if so how?

Those units are self adjusting. No way to adjust it. It sounds like you have a bad idler pulley or a bad spindle bearings, which would cause the pulleys to be out of alignment.

How to change an engine to deck belt on a Troy Bilt riding lawnmower

Either put the front of the mower on a jack or ramps and lower the deck. There should be adjusters on the pulleys which hold the belt on. Loosen these, then put on the new belt and use pulley tensioners to adjust the belt securely.

I have a troybuilt push lawnmower with a honda motor, I was wondering where the oil plug was where I can drain the oil.

It is under the mower, you will need a 3/8 ratchet and extension to take it out...make sure NOT to tip the mower over, you will have to raise it, but make sure the spark plug end stays up!!!
