Question about Dell Mouse XN966 USB Optical Scroll
My windows 7 os will not download drivers for anything but microsoft products so I have to do it manually. Have even been thru remote sessions with support to no avail, and usually have to fix what they mess up. But I cannot find the manual driver download for the dell mouse
If you cannot locate the driver on Dell's website, you can use the Windows 7 mouse driver for this mouse and all the features will still work. Try this:
Go to your Device Manager > Choose "Mice and other pointing devices >"Click the name of the Dell mouse you'd like to update. Click the tab labeled "Driver" and then click "Update Driver." Select "Search automatically for updated driver software." Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

Testimonial: "Jim, thanks for responding but the issue goes deeper than that. The dell mouse ended up being damaged. BUT,the problem I'm having is my mice and keyboards are being misrecognized by the device manager, then being put in wrong catagory, with "no drivers found." I have a logitech mx310 mouse, same driver as a microsoft, yet windows 7 can find none. Even though I find the driver files in sys32 drivers. I have done everything under the sun except re-install & manual download. If you can help with that it would be great. I should mention that same mx310 and the keyboard both worked until approx 36 hrs ago and it is now 7:30am Az time. Thanks in advance for any help"
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: touchpad not scrolling
You, someone/something else may have disabled it unexpectedly and/or unintentionally; like what happened to me :(
- Go to Task Manager
- Go to Mouse settings and Enable "Virtual Scroll" <-- (May be called something different depending on the OS too)
Hope I helped

SOURCE: Dell Keyboard/Mouse Lag
Check your ease of access settings from the control panel. Make sure you don't have any keyboard and mouse settings that make for slow stroke response.

mcdevito75 here, The optical mouse should have instructions, or you can type in search from home page up-date drivers.
