Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device./
After 5 years, and you have tried to set it up again, its probably had it.
Turn off all power to it for 10 mniutes then carefully do the setup again. If its still bad its time to replace it.
This is guesswork but you are probably using the wrong encoding scheme. I'm assuming you're tyring to burn a DVD. Look in your DVD burner software for an option labelled VCD or NTSC VCD.
If you have a multimeter you should be able to check the out voltage on the powersupply to make sure the power cable isn't at fault. You may also try wigling the power cord a little bit to see if the unit will then get power. If so you have a faulty powercord.
If there are any fuses they should usually be accessible from the outside; that's the point with them - they should be easy to change. I would put my money on the power cable.
If you have access to a diferent power source try that out. If the unit works with a different power source your power source is at fault. If it still doesn't work the problem is within your unit.
Check to see if any pins on the power source and/or the units power plug might be bent or dirty.
