How do I remove the Battery Shroud for 247.370480 19-inch Rechargeable Rotary Mower?

First there is 4 batteries connect in series under the cover.

You will need a flat head screwdriver and some wood wedges. The motor shroud has four slots on the cover, two on each side. 1.) Place the flat head screwdriver into one of the four slots in the cover. 2.) Push in the tab behind the slot with the screwdriver while lifing on the cover at the same time to release the tab. 3.) Place a small wooden wedge under the cover so that it doesn't lock back into place. 4.) Do this on all four slots to fully release it. It might be best to go Front Right, Front Left, Rear Left, and then Rear Right. Good luck!

Kawasaki 430V engine stops under engaging cutter blade but runs smoothly on idling

Could be a couple things, try turning the blade by hand to see if it will turn fairly easy. If it doesn't check around the blade base to see if something is wedging around the shaft like weeds or a piece of wire or rope or something. If there's nothing there check the belt maybe the idler has a frozen bearing [if it's got one] or maybe the belt jumped off and is wedged in there around the shaft. good luck

How to open the pure-fi anywhere 2 (logitech)so that i can try to repair it?

I just got my Pure-Fi Anywhere (must be "1," because it doesn't say "2" on the box.) apart to both replace the battery (Ebay, $12-$15), and tighten the screw on the swivel leg.

1) Don't use a screwdriver or anything steel - you'll bugar up the plastic if you do. I used the plastic "prying tools" that came with the battery replacement kit for my iPod. I...

2) Wedged in pretty hard behind the faceplate that encircles all four speakers. This faceplate is about .080" thin. Once I saw that I could force these plastic tools in there, I carefully slid them around and loosened the whole plate. This plate is stuck on with, I guess, some kind of glue - but it remains sticky. I haven't reassembled anything yet, but I think it will go back on and stick again (careful where you set it).

3) Removing this thin plate reveals a bunch of screws. You only need to remove the eight black (larger) screws (ignore the six silver (smaller, flathead) screws - they don't need to come out).

4) Now for more prying (you got those eight larger screws out, right??) - I used the same plastic "prying tools." The best spot for this turned out to be: a) on the top; b) the side OPPOSITE of all the control buttons (power, volume, shuffle, etc.) -- halfway between the middle (iPod cradle) and the end (the opening is about 1/2" back from the front of the speakers. I forced the plastic tool in there, then twisted it and the two pieces seperated (with some effort)(you did remove those screws, right?). I worked the plastic prying tool around CAREFULLY, and eventually had complete success in seperating these two pieces. The wires from the battery are the only thing now connecting the two pieces together.

If you went this far, you don't need me to tell you about the battery or how to tighten the feet. But I DO want to express my irritation at the "expert" at the Logitech forum site: He told a questioner that "you don't want to open up the speakers, it will reduce the acoustics if you do..." Again, if you've gone this far, you can see that nothing done here could have anymore adverse affect on the acoustics than opening your car's trunk would affect the car speakers in the back.

My 7800 just started producing some repeating back and forth scratches in the ink when printing The zigzags are confined to a 1/4"-1/2" width and will last anywhere from 2"-6" before disappearing but...

1) Check your printer maintenance menu, there may be a roller cleaning option.

2) You could try feeding a heavy guage paper or light card, through, that might clear the object.

3) After the above, it down to getting into the printer.

How do i change the chuck on a delta drill press model 11-090c

it looks like it requires a special tool called a wedge, look on the side of the chuck for something like 1 or 2 , 3 jacobs taper and then the wedge would be accordingly, they come in from either side and you would hit them with a hammer to unseat the taper fit. Let me know if you need more assistance.

The right dial won't work.

I have the same problem with the dials. The best solution I can offer there is to pop the dial off using a thin tool and then putting it back in place with the grooves aligned. As for the ipod not working, the ihome should have came with fittings that sit where the ipod goes to make that connection snug. If you have lost them I'm sure you could find one online.

Kenmore washer need to put rubber gasket retaining spring back on. Any tricks, seems impossible. Peter

I assume that you're talking about the inner spring. It's very tight, so you have to get the rubber gasket (bellows) fitted on the its frame, then push the bellows inside out in toward the tub. Start with placing the spring in its groove at 12 o'clock. Wedge something between the bellows and the white colored weight ring of the tub. You'll need something approx 3/4" in diameter to wedge the top of the spring in place. (I've used a 1/2"X90 degree copper elbow I had laying around that had an approx outside diameter of 3/4"). This will hold the spring in place as you work it around. It is still very difficult and you may have to stretch the spring ever so slightly to get it back into the groove. Once the spring is back on, remove the wedge, fold the bellows back out and attach the fill hose and attach bellows back to front panel.
