Needle will not catch the bobbin thread

Pick up hook as been knocked out of timing, remove feed dogs cover plate remove shuttle bobbin turn sewing machine in the correct rotation and watch the pickup hook it should be just about to go behind the needle when it's in it's lowest position just as it starts to rise up again the hook should now be behind the needle to pick up the cotton thread, if not get a screw driver and gently prise the pick up hook to it's correct position as mentioned above, this must be done whilst holding the hand wheel of the sewing machine without it moving, normally I would say undo the clamping screws that hold the hook assembly on the shaft but the majority of sewing machine will move back into position quite easily, but please do not prise it from the hook you can usually find and area to do this with out going near the hook once done turn by hand to make sure you have done it correctly as above when satisfied reassemble.
Happy sewing.

Singer 6416 sewing machine

Not familiar with this particular machine but make sure you have the needle all the way up. They won't change the position otherwise.

I have a Bernette 334d that I replaced a broken horizontal shaft gear. Everything is turning but I cannot get it to make a chain. Think the timing is off. HELP!!!

Hi
If the timing is out, to be honest, you need to get it done by someone who is experienced. It is not a simple job - there are many steps in the process and it must be done very accurately in order for it to function correctly. Timing a sewing machine is childs play in comparison.
Cheers

I advise tha you have it done by a repairer as it must be done with great precision. You can damage the loopers if it is not set correctly.

How to change belt on bernina overlocker

Carole... I recommend taking the overlocker in to have this done. If it's not done properly you could break a looper or worse with it being out of time. Better to have the belt replace and while you are at it have it cleaned, lubed and adjusted. ;)

What can I use for a blanket stitch on this machine?

A blanket stitch is traditionally done with a large needle and wool to a folded edge of fabric and is often done about 1cm wide, most sewing machines can't swing the needle this wide or take the heavy gauge thread you need for the blanket stitch effect, its a hand done thing.

The machine is pulling the fabric into the bobbin case when embroidering. Just picked up brom repair center where they had it for 4 weeks to get the part to repair it from doing this. Still doing just...

Firstly, phone the repair shop and let them know their work was not done properly. Talk to them and see what help they can offer.
Secondly, is your project properly stabilised and secured in the hoop? Every project should be done with stabiliser to support the stitches. It needs to be hooped taut without being tight i.e. do not stretch the fabric out of shape, but the fabric should be held securely.
If the fabric is being pulled down into the bobbin during ordinary sewing, check to be sure the feed dogs are raised. Check also that you are using the proper needles with regard to the correct size and type for your project and that it is a new needle (a blunt needle will not go through the fabric cleanly).

How do I read the hours of operation on the husqvarna designer 1 on the touch screen?

If you keep scrolling through the Set menu you can find out how many hours the machine has done since the Hours was re-set. This feature is used in case you need to time a project - perhaps you are doing a paid job and need to calculate how long you spent on it. Most people just let it accumulate and don't bother to zero it out ever, so it is likely that the hours shown there are the total hours the machine has done. But not guaranteed to be the total - someone selling a machine second-hand might zero it out hoping to convince a potential buyer that the machine has done very little sewing.

There is a screen where you can see the true total hours a machine has done but this is best accessed by a qualified technician. You can cause all kinds or problems for you and your machine if you access these areas and don't know what you are doing. Go to a dealer and get them to check it.
