Re: color changing

It's probably not the fan but the color wheel, Mitsubishi p/n# 938P030010
There is no recall on these but you may have had this set long enough that the software version is out of date... What you have there is a V34 chassis and the most current software version is 8.02 you can check this in your menu or have a tech do it when they come out and test for the color wheel failure.
The color wheel is best purchased at MDEA (Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America) but you can also call Tri-State Module back in Indiana 800-203-7484 and see if it's one of the models they support and can rebuild.
Hope this helps

No picture no sound lamp light and standy / temp light flashing

Two things to look at---------the lamp to see if shattered inside AND with it removed look where it faces at the color wheel--see attached photo.

Look to see if any segments are broken, missing etc. Many of the wheels fail in this way and some will have a high pitched or even fan like sound before they fail.

Some when really bad will make a grinding noise also. The set monitors the speed of the wheel and if it slows or stops the set will almost instantly turn the lamp off(if possible watch from area where lamp is to see if at turn on to see if it for a moment lights or not.

2 solutions for problem. ONE color wheel is grinding. IF high pitched sound is heard. Second bad fan or fan contaminated with dust. Turn TV off unplug. LET cool down ... Using canned air clean all vents on rear of set. MAY also need to remove cover and find the 3 fans inside of set.

The fan intermittenly makes a noise and the color changes on the tv

You need to give model #. Most likely you have a dlp tv and its not the fan but the color wheel that spins at very high speed and creates correct colors on your screen. This color wheel makes noise when its bad and colors go off when its running at slower speeds. Its going to fail sooner or later as its going bad now. Its a professional job to change the color wheel and could cost you $280-320 depending on the model. Fan generally never make anoise that is loud enoug to be heard unless its blades are hitting some obstru ction. Color wheels make whining or in worst case screeching noise when bad. check out for more FAQs. Thanks if you voted for me.

Excessive Fan Noise

If I may - - the Grand Wega has a common color wheel problem and it may not be the fan at all... If while you are powered up listen carefully to the noise as you hit the power button - does the noise go away or is it still there? If rough noise stops and you can still here something in there running at a whisper then your problem is a bad color wheel not a fan... If it doesn't stop and it is the fan you'll most likely need to replace it.. Like Lemmor said you may need to clean your air intakes, which you can do with the hose on your vacuum but that is a brushless fan and no oil change in the world will help it..

Sony KP-61XBR48 Service Menu Item Keeps Changing

the only thing to do is pick which video mode you want (tv, vid1,2,3,etc) and then turn off and then immediately on for an hour or two and then the picture will come on. I,ve heard it's an internal transformer problem.
