You may have to get to the screws from the inside of fridge door behind the insulation. unless u see the small plastic caps that normally cover the screw holes ? should be able to see them at the door handle top and bottom, the caps pop out

SOURCE: handle is loose on refrigerator, how to tighten the handle

There should be some small Allen (Hex) screws on each bottom side of the handle. Just use a Allen wrench and tighten it up.

How can i fix loose handle on fridge

If you don't see any screw heads or plugs covering screws, lift up on the handle. Perhaps bang up on the lower part with the palm of your hand. The handle should move up and come off revealing the screws.

Loose door handle

if this is a style with an aluminum handle that runs top to bottom of the fridge door, then you have to remove the metal strip in the center of the door handle. It is held by magnets. the best way to remove it without damaging it is to put a piece of electrical tape in the very center of the metal strip, and pull on it gently. it should lift it away from the handle then you can get your finger behind it to pull it the rest of the way off. DONT BEND IT or you will be buying a new one. Once they are even slightly tweaked, they will never stay on. Under this strip are the screws holding the handle on. Tighten them then tuck the strip you removed into the bottom then the top trim and just let it snap back into place.

How do I remove ge GBS20KBPACC handle for reverse door swing

You just grab the handle with both hands and pull/lift up like your trying to lift the fridge wirh the handle. It should disengage and then pull off.

Door handle came loose .how do i tighten it up`

hello kyler.... Empty out the contents of the door of the fridge. Then pull up the gasket and under that you will see screws. Remove those screws and the entire inside of the door is released exposing the screws to tighten the handle. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Fridge door will not stay shut

Glenn,

Easy... The door alignment adjustment is done at the top hinge. Pull up a step-stool, then remove the hinge cover. Under there you'll see three screws, I think they're 5/16". Loosen these (since your door has dropped, they're probably already loose), then lift up on the door handle to align it with the other door... while keeping the door aligned, tighten the hinge screws (and put alot of torque on 'em to keep 'em from loosening in the future). Now just replace the hinge cover and your done!

Fisher Paykel fridge door handle loose

Yes hello, I had the same problem - similar fridge model.  Mine was the fridge (not freezer) door handle ie. the upper door.  There are no small holes on the bottom of my fridge handle.  Working from the outer door edge, I gently prized loose the plastic trim located under the door.  I didn't take it completely off, just loosened about one quarter of the length, enough to flex the trim downward so that I could then access the phillips head screw that secures the fridge handle from the inside of the door.  The trim will prevent you from using a conventional screw driver to tighten the screw.  I used a screw driver bit which is only 25mm long.  It has an hexagonal end to which I applied a small spanner and voila - the handle is once more secure.  Good luck.

Door handle loose on 10656542400 kenmore

I got it!!! Okay, the most common problem is the fridge handle at the top is coming loose from the mere fact that the fridge gets opened more than the freezer and people grasp the handle higher than lower. Okay, open the door until you can look at the handle sideways where it attaches to the door. What is happening is the screw that slides into the bracket is simply backing out. Try lifting the handle straight up, only about an inch plus. The bracket is the same on the bottom of the handle as the top. If you cannot get the handle to lift, get a very slim standard screwdriver and push the retaining clip down (away from the handle) so the screw head can get passed it. You may have to push the retaining clip pretty good to get it down. When you have it pushed away from the screw head, lift the handle and it should pop up. Take the handle away from the door and tighten the screw. The screw head takes a torques screw head (star shaped, like a philips but different) Tighten it until it stops the just realign the TWO screw heads into the upper and lower bracket and slide the handle down gently. No problem! You can do it!

GE Refrigerator side by side loose door handles

I was actually trying to find a solution to this problem myself though I'm pretty sure I already know the solution. Try this: grip the handle that's loose firmly and jerk it up. The handle should come up and the straight out to reveal the spring clip mechanism holding the handle on. Tighten the screws on this and then put the handle back on by pushing it towards the fridge and jerking it down. You make want to protect the fridge above and below were the handle attaches so you don't scratch the fridge door when pulling the handle on or off.

Ge fridge

the panel comes off the outside of the door, probably a cracked or loose water line. use care when prying around on the front panel, look for small screws in the bottom of tray drain (which should lift out ).
