What To Do If Comcast Connection IS Out?

If your cable or Internet isn't working, there are a few simple fixes you can try.
Check the Power and Connections for Your Devices If there are no reported outages, see if a few quick checks uncover the problem:
  • Make sure the plugs for the devices haven't come loose, the outlets are working, and a fuse hasn't blown.
  • Check that all the cable connections are secure.
  • If your TV is hooked up to a TV box, VCR, or DVD player, confirm the TV is on the right channel.
  • Confirm that your account is up to date on payments. Late payments can cause an interruption of service.
Restart Your Devices You can troubleshoot specific service problems for the following services:
Get Some Information If you need to contact us, it will be helpful for us to have some information about your outage:
  • If you have a TV box, make sure the channel number is lit in the channel window. If you have a digital TV box and there is a "0" in the channel window, it means the box is not able to receive information.
  • If you have other TVs, check if the problem is with one TV or all of them. If the cable is not working on all your TVs, the problem is probably outside of your home.
  • Check with your neighbors to find out if they are having a problem or if only your cable is out.

My cable provider(Comcast) isn't listed when I try to activate the History channel on ROKU

I suggest you contact Roku via their website. When I activated The History Channel for my Roku 3 for Optimum, I thought I saw Comcast listed. Might it be listed as "Xfinity" ? If not, it should be on the pulldown menu. If you still don't find it there, contact your local Comcast customer service. They may not offer it for you in your location, although I don't understand why they wouldn't. Good Luck!

How do i connect the fax for my officejet 5510. i use comcast modem for my phone. thanks.

Greetings - Your Officejet was made to fax over an old fashioned analog phone line (POTS) but you're using VOIP phone service (over the internet) which in inherently incompatible. VOIP fax works with some internet providers but apparently not comcast. But it still may be doable.
I recommend you call Comcast tech support to see if they can help you. Maybe something has changed.
There is a good discussion about this issue where some people have it working here:

Computer shows connected to the internet but cannot be use

There are a few possibilities here.  One of the more common ones is that you haven't paid your internet service bill, and they've turned off your connection to the internet.  If so, you can usually still get to your ISP's address (e.g., verizon.net or comcast.net), where you will be prompted to log in and give new credit card information.

Another possibility is that you have a spyware/adware/virus/malware infection.  You'd need to install and run a package like SpyBot, AVG, or BitDefender (all free and quite good).  Since you can't surf to these sites, you'd need to download the package onto a flash drive from a connected computer.

Another possibility is that there really is a problem with the upstream DNS server or your computer's TCP/IP (internet) settings.  Getting to these settings is different for different versions of the Windows operatingn system (grrr... Bill Gates is the devil incarnate).  Usually, setting the DNS server to be selected by DHCP works.  Alternatively, you can manually specify the OpenDNS servers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

If the problem really is with the upstream DNS server, you'd still be able to connect to purely numeric IP addresses, like, for Google:
http://64.233.161.147

If that numeric address won't work, you might need to look at your upstream connection devices, like router or modem or the physical wire/cable connection to the modem.

Internet connection issue. Is it setup or internet service

The problem would be comcast. Your connections are setup correctly. The modems do not control the internet traffic flow, they are made to produce maximum flow.
If more people use the internet, the less flow it will have.
Check all internet options settings, and make sure EVERTHING is set to automatic

If this problem is happening on a regular TV channel and does not appear when watching an HD channel or while watching a DVD then most likely you have no problem at all. What you are seeing is actually the LOW Definition signal sent for regular TV programming that used to look pretty good on a small tube style screen but now is enlarged on a screen capable of incredible accuracy and is displaying all of the poor quality attributes of standard definition TV.

COMCAST SERVICE

They should provide you with whatever adapters you might need to connect your phones and all-in-one to their connection when they install it. The time to ask them questions like that is when the installer is actually in your house.
