Question about NEC Office Equipment & Supplies
I have a ceiling mounted NEC NP-M260X projector. The clean filter message came on - not sure how long it had been on as no one noticed. One day the bulb started shutting down after a minute or so. I cleaned the filter and reset the filter hours but it still only comes on for a minute or so. Barely enough time to check the menu items. It is on auto eco. It is showing about 58% lamp life left. There is a small blinking red light which apparently means a lamp problem.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

you need to turn OFF the message function under the expert tab on the "on screen menu"
In the state of Power ON, press each key in the order of: HELP, UP, LEFT, HELP
Press the Menu Key to display the menu and confirm that Expert is displayed below the menu.
Once you go into Expert mode, go to the Expert2 tab in the onsreen menu and set the message to OFF.
Hope that helps.

Just a long shot, but...
I have an epson 9000i that did the same thing. Turns out that unit has a small fan (I think 60mm) right next to the power supply to keep it cool, in addition to the large fan that exhausts past the lamp. The fan runs non-stop as long as the unit is powered-up for two reasons I can think of - keep the power supply a little cooler, and the lamp a little warmer so there's not such a temp difference when it powers-up. Long story short, that fan had died. I replaced it with an aftermarket 60mm fan and it's been working fine ever since. Hope this helps.

the expected lamp life is an average .. its not unusual to see early failures ... check the lamp connections to make sure they are secure ... check ventilation to make sure its not blocked by dust .. if there is a fan, make sure its working ..

The temperature in the classroom is to hot. Turn down the
temperature in the classroom or get a small fan and place it near the
projector. The projector is running at border line and just needs a few
degrees of cooling...
