THis means that something happened to the temp sensor when you drained it. Make sure there are no air locks in the system

Spa was below temp, now it heats and won't shut off.

Is your spa overheating, heating up past 104 degrees?
If so, you have a contactor (or relay) stuck shut and the spa should go into OH at 108 degrees.
d
If your hot tub is only heating to 104 or what ever temp you have it set at and the motor runs 24 hours a day there are a couple of things you'll want to check.
First, make sure that you do not have the pump set to run 24 hours a day.
Second, you'll want to see if the pump icon is lit up on the control panel. You will want to check to see if the icon is on while the spa is supposed to be resting. During filter cycles the icon will be lit. If you are not in a filter cycle and the pump is on while the icon light is off, you have a stuck contactor (relay). The relays can be found online for less then a couple of dollars.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

A downeast hot tub water is only 78 degrees turn up to 100 doesn't never get warmer and shows a ECn code

Check your filter cycles and switch spa into Standard Mode as you have it in Economy. (In Economy mode it will only heat during the filter cycles).
If the Ecn or Ec Message is Alternating with the Water Temperature on the Display, the Spa is Operating in the Economy Heating Mode.

If the Ecn or Ec Message is ON Solid (Not Flashing) on the Display, the Spa is Operating in the Economy Heating Mode, but there is No current water temperature because the Spa is between Filter Cycles.

Ecn or Ec is Alternating with Temp:
The Spa is Operating in the "Economy" (Ecn or Ec) Heating Mode.

The Water Temperature is Sampled Only during Programmed Filter Cycles. The Heater will Only operate and Heat up to Set Temperature during the Filter Cycles. The Water Temperature will probably drop Below Set Temperature between Filter Cycles. Other Heating Modes are Standard, Standard in Economy, and Sleep Modes.

Ecn or Ec is ON Solid (Not Flashing):
The Current Water Temperature is "Unknown" (- - - or - -) while in Economy or Sleep Mode.

Between Filter Cycles, while in the Economy or Sleep Heating Modes, the Pump has not turned ON and the Last Water Temperature is not Current. To read the Current Water Temperature, either Change to Standard Heating Mode or turn On the Heating Related Pump, and wait at least 2 Minutes.

Drained my 2000 Great Lakes Spa now OH is displayed when I turn up the heat it kicks out the breaker..

OH is overheat due to insufficient water flow through the heater.
Common Causes:
  • Gate valves not opened/partially closed.
  • Air trapped in suction lines or pump
  • Blocked suction fitting
  • Dirty filter
  • Restricted water discharge lines

Try remove filter cartridge and run spa.
Check pressure switch for continuity.
Unplug & plug hi limit sensor.

Over heating showing oh water to hot

It sounds like you may have either too slow of water flow moving through the heater ( caused by a dirty filter ), or you may have a bad high limit sensor. Check to see that the filter is clean first.

When I have my pump running to heat the water up. It'll display OH after a while and won't heat up. Can't figure out how to fix it. Ive unplugged it and let it sit for a while and when I plug it back in...

OH is for Over Heat. This could be many things. The most likely culprits are simple and easy to fix.

Start with removing the filter cartridge and see if the code comes up again. If it does not, replace the filter. The most common cause of averheating in a spa is a dirty cartridge filter. You CANNOT simply keep washing off an old filter and think that it will be like new. They get clogged even if they look clean and should be replaced every 6-12 months at least. When the filter clogs, the pump cant pump water, which makes the temp sensor think that it is overheating.

Another possibility is that the pump has a clog or build-up inside and needs to be cleaned out so that water can flow properly. This is easy for a homeowner to accomplish. Just remove pump, and unscrew the few wet-end screws, and look inside to make sure the impeller is spinning freely and clear of debris.

One more cause could be a bad temp sensor (thermistor) however, this is most unlikely.

My hot tub had a OH where the temp usually is, then went blank and i wasnt able to reset it. i just replaced the cord and resiliconed around the temp readout

This is probally your temp sensor. Where it is on your system is hard to say. If you have a book on the system it will be in there.

What does oh mean on hot tub a cal spa

'OH' means 'over-heat'.

Basically the high-limit temperature sensor has detected a temperature far in excess of what it should be.

Check the filter(s), water flow, pump etc....

Ian.

QCA Opal hot tub display reading OH.

The tub experienced an overheat situation. This may be due to leaving the t stat turned all the way up and not monitoring or the hi-limit sensor is defective. The hi-limit sensor will shut down the heating cicuit if temp gets above 105 D optimally.the fact that the heater light is on is a good sign that things are working at this point.Whether or not a suitable temp(100-103 D) will be arrived at is to be seen. If spa heat kicks off before set temp is reached then replace hi-limit sensor.
