I reformatted my C: drive. Before formatting, I had important data in my D: drive. Now, after formatting, when I try to access D: drive, I get a "Windows explorer has stopped working...Windows is checking for a solution" error.
How to access D: drive and get rid of this error ?

Re: Windows explorer has stopped working.....
Windows Explorer is part of the Windows Operating System. If you reformatted C: drive then your PC has operating system in it. You need to re-install windows back into the C: drive as the Destination Drive. Should be fine after that. In a pinch, if your PC has really failed completely. Then, buy a Hard Drive adapter cable set which will allow you read your drive once you remove it using another computer. You can then copy the files somewhere else to save them or move them.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

reformat that drive again first and important is to set your partition active to the drive letter exact to what it was before it must be FAT or NTFS with the same active partyitionscheme as before use the getbackdata to recover an image of the output to a clean harddisk with some larger data storage external on your computer for the data output.
If not formatted you cannot get the images from it important how it was formatted is the most important thing reformatting will not destroy the data but will match the program how to handle the data to recover , beware never do not set the output to the same drive where you recover the data from .
IF you used linux photorec or dd rescue or other several tools are there to use,
All your files are still stored on the removable hard drive. They're just invisible or inaccessible. You can recover them with data recovery software. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Data-Recovery/290956907592436?sk=info I used this one to recover files from my formatted external hard drive and it worked. Anyway, you can download it and scan your removeable hard drive for free to preview whether you can recover your data. Hope this help!
Easiest way to fix that problem is to save all your important files onto an external hard drive and reformat the hard drive, otherwise you will be trying to correct this with Antivirus programs and other junk that will only cover up the error message. Alot of times it is easier to format and reinstall the operating system than try to figure out tose error codes, and windows never gets their stuff right.
Install the drive as a secondary drive on known working computer. Go into it via windows explorer, locate and backup the files you want on a usb stick or external hard drive. Format the drive, load your OS, and reinstall the files you saved from the drive before you formatted it.
To reformat the NWZ-S545 Walkman follow these steps found on page 92 of the operation guide:
Formatting memory [Format] You can format the built-in flash memory of the player.
If the memory is formatted, all data (songs, videos, photos, etc., including sample data installed at the factory) will be erased. Be sure to verify the data stored in memory prior to formatting, and export any important data to the hard disk of your computer.
Be sure not to initialize (format) the built-in flash memory of the player using Windows Explorer. If you have formatted with Windows Explorer, format again using the player.
This function is only available in the pause mode.
From the [Home] menu, select [Settings] / [Common Settings] / [Format]. [All data including songs will be deleted. Proceed?] appears.
Select [Yes]. [All data will be deleted. Proceed?] appears. To cancel the operation, select [No].
Select [Yes]. When initialization finishes, [Memory formatted.] appears. To cancel the operation, select [No].
If you plug in your external drive to your computer's usb port, does the system detects it? If yes, go to your windows explorer; right click start button and choose Explore. Look for the drive letter associated with your external drive, right click it and choose Format.
After you successfully Format the drive, you can use Recuva with it or any other data recovery application.
Bring the Sandisk cruzer to any computer store that offers data recovery and back up or data retrieval. We called them the Data Recovery Center.
Most of them has a software they use in cracking passwords and other secured programs. From their computer, they could actually back up your important files saved in your Sandisk. Then you may now reformat your device.
For your 2 queries: 1. The clicking sound is indicative of a hardware failure or the start of one. Considering having it fixed would simply be buying a bit of time and prolonging the inevitable. The drive even when repaired tends to be suspect and would defeat its very purpose;
2. You can perform the reformat yourself. If the WD would show as a removable drive in your Windows Explorer, right clicking on the assigned drive letter would give you the option to Format it.
Alternately, it might be to your advantage to simply replace the WD. In some instances, it is also possible to just replace the actual HD inside the enclosure.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
