SOURCE: Radio stations not beiing memorised

there is suppose to be 2 power in for the radio
1 that holds memory for the radio has to be picked from a line that has power available to it even if the car is switched off
and the other just to switch on the radio itself...
check to verify that you have connected the memory power for the radio correctly and that that line has power even though the car is switched off......
use dc tester to test that it has power available

SOURCE: Wiring for a kenwood kdc 1020 cd player

if you have the wire connector it's easy.....give the negative conection to the body of the player..find the wire from the battery with has the power supply even when the switch is off..and connect it to the yellow wire.that is for the memory...find the wire which has the power when the switch is on ,and connect it to the red wire from the player....what i mean by switch is the ignition switch... u can easily find the speaker connections...most speaker wires comes as blue,ash,green,white...there are two wires from each colour......

Reset the radio by pressing a sharp object (pin, pen, etc.) into the small reset hole on or behind the face. If it doesn't have one, disconnect the negative cable from the battery for two minutes and reconnect. If you still have this problem, the radio is bad.

I have power to the radio, cd, and tape player but the display light indicating what station i have on the radio will not light up therefore i do not what station i am listening to. Would you please tell...

If it is a detachable face radio, you can try cleaning the contacts between the headunit and the face. IF this does not fix the problem, you will need to purchase another face for the unit or have it serviced. Hope this helped.

I am just taking a guess because I dont know what model this is. Your antenna wire could be loose in the back of unit, possibly when hitting buttons it knocked into place and now it has slipped out and needs to be proper put back in.

How to lock in radio station on kenwood face off cd player

once you have the station you want to listen to on the radio press and hold one of the buttons along the bottom of the stereos face for a few seconds the screen should flash for a second or two or it should beep as well to indicate its saved it.

if when you turn the ignition off and then turn it back on the stereo has forgotten the station you programmed you need to remove the stereo from the car and check the wiring at the back of the unit. most of them have a red and yellow wire that are joined by metal push fit connectors, swap these two over and it will then remember the station for you.

the red wire is the switched power lead from the ignition and the yellow lead is a constant live feed for it to remember your settings, if these are round the wrong way it will keep forgetting radio stations you program until you switch them over.

Loss of memory when remove the face

Your wire connection is incorrect. Make sure that the yellow wire comming out of the radio connects to a yellow wire from the car and that the red one connects to a red one. Also make sure the radio is grounded properly.

Alpine CDA-9820XM CD player trouble

remove the face plate again, in the lower right of the unit there is a tiny reset button (paperclip or pen required) press this button and see what happens this will reset all of your radio stations, audio settings and such, but if it works, may save you a trip to your local repair depot.. if this does not work, you probably need to take it to your local repair depot.. hehe
