Clean the contacts on the face plate and the head and reinstall,if it doesnt work,then you will need a new faceplate

there is suppose to be 2 power in for the radio
1 that holds memory for the radio has to be picked from a line that has power available to it even if the car is switched off
and the other just to switch on the radio itself...
check to verify that you have connected the memory power for the radio correctly and that that line has power even though the car is switched off......
use dc tester to test that it has power available

if you have the wire connector it's easy.....give the negative conection to the body of the player..find the wire from the battery with has the power supply even when the switch is off..and connect it to the yellow wire.that is for the memory...find the wire which has the power when the switch is on ,and connect it to the red wire from the player....what i mean by switch is the ignition switch... u can easily find the speaker connections...most speaker wires comes as blue,ash,green,white...there are two wires from each colour......

try geting on the station that you want to preset and hold down the buttons at the bottom usually 1-6
