Slide pots for PV14 mixer

The pot needs to be cleaned. Get a spraty can of DeOxit 5. Spray it into the track and move the slider up and down a number of times. If that doesn't fix it, replace the slide pot.

Peavey pv14 right side stop working all of a sudden how do i fix it?

you could have blown the output on that side,, here are some other things you may need to know about that mixer http://bose.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8566055944/m/3281007943 I have seen the manual for this unit in the past and it really doesn't give many details of what all can be used for this mixer,, However that seems to be par for most unpowered mixers, I do know that if your using a mic with it,, its very choosy on which ones work , and those that have issues

Kustom KSC 4080 Just bought - channel 1 is dead, for both 1/4-inch and XLR inputs. By the way, the nut securing the 1/4-inch jack is gone (any wild possibility that creates a grounding issue that cuts out...

The missing nut is not likely to kill the channel. You just bought this so exercise your warranty... unless it is used in which case you bought someone else's problem. Somebody probably blew out the channel by zapping it with high voltage that destroyed the input circuit of the channel. Often there are bypass capcitors right at the input which short out. If this is boiught used, take to a repair shop and if new, exercise your warranty. I suspect they removed the nut from the connector to mark the dead channel.

Connect Qsc pair kw122 powered speakers and kw 181 powered sub to peavy pv14 mixer?

Two things... Use BALANCED LINES, either XLR or TRS... AND power the mixer from the same receptacle or power conditioner as the speakers and the sub.

How do you hook up a peavey pv14 usb mixer to non-powered speakers?

You'll need to provide an amplifier if there isn't one built into the speakers. All the mixer does is combine audio sources and provide a line-level output. A separate amplifier is needed to boost that to speaker level. If you're just using the mixer in a home setting and you have a stereo receiver or home theater system, you can feed the mixer's output to an auxiliary input on the receiver and use the speakers you have connected to that.

Mic channels 2 and 3 don't work no sound. mic channels 1 and 4 work okay as well as inputs 5-12. how can i fix this??

There is an internal f ailure and the unit will require servicing. To get by until you can get it fixed, you can get line transformers that will allow the mics to be used on the higher channels.

If you have inadvertently plugged a source into the :insert" jacks of these bad channels by mistake, that may have blown the input op-amps.

A lot of dis-assembly of the board must be done to get to the parts to repair.

Another possibility is if the sliders have gone bad... SAME prognosis for repair.

6 mnths old Alto L8 Mixing desk developed hiss on channel 1 only.

The slider or the amps for channel 1 may have a problem.

Sliders do wear out.

Try shorting channel 1 input and see if that affects the noise. A hissing noise is probably a bad preamp chip. That is shop work at a repair facility.

Eq on channel a doesn't work on 2 units

It could be an internal ground connection on the EQ that's broken ( maybe inside the connector) ..I repaired numerous peavey products and broken grounds are common.
