My camera is less than 2 yrs old and no matter how I try, the lense will not come out I. Useless

The lens itself is virtually worthless, possibly £10 at best and even then it needs to be flawless, in perfect working order and to have both front and rear protective caps. Collectors are really only interested in near mint examples of manufacturer's own brand lenses. Most lens buyers are now after lenses which work with digital SLR's and older lenses designed for 35mm film are often less than ideal or completely useless. Modern lenses are usually zoom models and fixed focal length primes like yours are less versatile.

Regarding the mounting, the serial number is no help. Look around the mounting for clues, it might have any of the following:-

N = Nikon
Ca, C, or MD = Canon
CY = Contax Yashica
O or OL = Olympus
M = Minolta
P, PK or P = Pentax
M42 = 42mm screw fit used on old SLR's, also Zenith and Practika
X = Fujica, this is rare so may be worth a little more but there are also very few Fujica owners anyway so may not sell at all.

If there are no clues that you can make sense of then take the camera along to a camera shop, preferably one which sells used 35mm film SLR's and they should be able to identify it for you.

Pls check the batteries are they supplying full power to camera are they aged or old try replacing them with good power batts and Memory card try re formatting it on a PC card reader

lense is coming out at full length or there is a grinding noise or abnormal behavior in it pls check may be u dropped ur camera or any other incident broken its lense gear.

I would suspect the batteries

Ive got an eos Rebel think its just over 4 years old
for the last year its been used every weekend for several hours 300+ pics per weekend between 2 nights I found that recently where one battery would last a night the battery was running out midway through & also taking longer to charge afterwards

2 after market replacements cost me about £10 and things are back to normal

5 years is a pretty good lifespan for a battery so its probably just getting old

WITH THE CAMERA YOU HAVE , IT IS BEST TO GET ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THE LABOR AND PARTS EXCEED THE VALUE OF THE CAMERA .
tHE NEW CAMERAS ARE OLD WITH BETTER FEATURES AND EVEN LESS MONEY .
THE LENSE BARREL ASSEMBLY IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE .

I would first try cleaning the battery contacts, and if this doesn't work it is possible the new batteries you put in are defective so I would try another set of new batteries. If neither of these options work you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

This is because you DVD player's lense got too old. Try to clean that with a good Lense Cleaner. If the problem persists, change the Lense for the same.

Sadly, it's not worth repairing, as it's cheaper to replace it.

throw it in the garbage and get a less expensive Samsung digimax s500 for less with better quality and features.. What a mistake in purchasing a Pentax. I wrote to Pentax for I had the same problem. Answer, send it in for repairs with a cost if it is not undaer warranty. Not even a hint as to what may be the problem from them! Pentax, No thanks!
