Big screen RCA 52" flash green light on three times and shut off. Will not stay on , had a tech look at it he said power supply. We replace that, it continue to do the same thang. Now techician saying its...

power supply's are hardly ever replaced, they are repaired. your picture tube in most cases usually fail slowly progressively over time, there are many protection circuits involved in a TV`s circuit, they protect your unit from faults like power supply faults, picture convergence, vertical amplifiers, x ray, ext depending on your model, i suggest you search out a second opinion form another organization before spending 600 plus dollars for a new tube, i suspect your tech may be a little less than honorable...

The flash is not in sync with my nikon d40 anymore. It fires first. Pictures come out dark. The camera itself takes great flash pictures

It sounds like you're trying to use the SB-600 off camera, as a slave flash. While the SB-600 does indeed have slave capability, the D40 does not have the ability to function as a commander. Thus, the SB-600 is being triggered by the D40's pre-flash.

As stated above, the D40 does not function in commander mode. You can mount an SB-800 or SB-900 flash unit, which will function as a commander as well as a flash. Or you can mount an SU-800 commander unit.

Alternatively, you can switch the D40 to manual flash mode so as to eliminiate the preflash. However, you will then have to calculate the proper exposure yourself.

My sb 600 fires with the camera but it seems not illuminate

Definately a settings problem. The camera will only syncronize on one specific speed. Youe best bet is to use auto. For manual, you'll have to set the shutter speed at the sync speed.

Flash Sync Speed
  • up to 1/250 X-Sync Speed
  • up to 1/8000 FP High Speed Sync
  • Red-eye reduction
    Red-eye reduction with slow sync
    Rear-curtain sync
    Slow sync
Front-curtain sync (normal) Flash Sync Modes
  • 1) i-TTL: TTL flash control by 1,005-pixel RGB sensor, built-in flash, SB-800, SB-600, SB-400: i-TTL balanced fill-flash and standard i-TTL flash
    2) AA (Auto Aperture-type) flash: Available with SB-800 used with CPU lens
    3) Non-TTL Auto: Available with Speedlights such as SB-800, 28, 27, and 22S
    4) Range-priority manual flash; available with SB-800 Flash Control

I have not resolved the problem. according to your tech. I am going to have to call a local
Mitsubishi service tech to come to my home. He says that I need to install a chip of some kind...
    Hence problem not solved, yet.

D80 and SB-600 FV Lock doesn't work anymore

In whacky situations like this it is always best to re-set your camera and flash settings. Somewhere on your D80 you will find two function buttons with small green dots next to them. These are the resets. Push both in at the same time until the display LCD flashes.. The camera is now reset to default settings. You will now have to re-set your FV button to the custom setting you had it at before.

Also, reset you flash by turning on the power and removing the batteries and re-install them.
