Sharp R-530E microwave turns on when door opens

If it makes that hefty clunk and humming that microwaves make when working, that is NOT GOOD as it is the magnetron working producing radiation, so just needs chucking in the bin. It's not dangerous if it's just the fan (a much more gentle humming!

GE SPACEMAKER JVM1650 ''MICROWAVE MAKING LOUD HUMMING NOISE AND INSIDE REAL HOT WHEN DOOR CLOSED''WHEN DOOR OPEN DON'T HUM

When door open the microwave should not work at all, if the turntable and light come on with the door open , if they do , then this is an additional problem with door switch and must be fixed.

Regarding humming noise and no heath, Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.

If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).

Humming ge sapcesaver microwave

During operation, most of the built-in models have a panel that tilts out while the exhaust fan is on. When cooking is done, the exhaust fan shuts off and the panel retracts to its normal position. With the fan & microwave motor off, the hum is easier to hear. Look closely at the top panel the next time you hear the hum, and you'll probably see that it's retracting.
