One suggestions is to change the font to bold. On certain printers, you can also set the toner saver to off. I have also seen some printers with a setting to print everything in black. You can also try taking the toner cartridge out of you printer and rock it back and forth to ensure the toner is evenly distributed within the cartridge.

Good luck.

LX810 Label Printer is printing out labels that are the wrong colour. Oranges are pink, darker colours are pink, and some are purple. I have swapped out the ink cartridges and the problem is occurring. Any...

It's time to clean the printhead. Use the procedure from the printer status monitor. Try cleaning several times but beware it will drain some extra ink from the cartridges. If the cleaning process will not increase the quality of print, probably you will need to replace the printhead. Before replacing printhead, remove all the cartridges and verify if all four gaskets (seals) are present on the inner bottom of the printhead. Also remove printhead, clean contacts both on the back of printhead and carriage with isopropyl alcohol. Put back printhead and cartridges and let the printer do its ink system initialization process. Then try to print your labels again. If all those attempts fails, replace printhead.

Darker print

Enter the Setup Menu from control panel and modify the Darkness value. You have to increase the value and then Save the changes and exit the menu. On control panel Buttons you find the role of each button in the control panel. You can use the User Manual. There is an User Manual available for download from Zebra website. You will find there precious information. The manual is very explicit and you will learn how to maintain your printer and how to troubleshoot some common errors. Eventually clean your printer, assure to put the supplies on the right path, close the printhead and press Pause to enter in Ready state.

Can't print labels

I found out that each time you print from the manual load tray, i.e. letters and labels, once you have the paper in the manual load tray press print and then press the demo button to start the manual feed. I hope this helps.

Extra background color in my printing

You really should not run labels through this machine unless they are full sheets. If you are running used pages the glue will build up on the tranfer belt and cause the hazing.

You can set the sensor to either reflective or transmissive.

For the printer to maintain a constant print position it uses the transmissive sensor to detect the gap
between labels by measuring the amount of light passing through the media. When the media is preprinted,
the darker (or more dense) inks can interfere with this process causing paper jam errors. To get
around this problem a minimum threshold can be set for the sensor in the following way.
(1) The printer is in stand-by.
(2) Load a media roll in the usual way.
(3) Press the [PAUSE] key.
(4) The printer enters the pause mode.
(5) Press and hold the [PAUSE] key for at least 3
seconds in the pause state.
(6) The sensor type is displayed.
(7) Press the [FEED] key.
(8) The reflective sensor (black mark sensor) is selected.
(9) Press the [FEED] key again.
(10) The transmissive sensor (feed gap sensor) is selected.
(11) Press and hold the [PAUSE] key.
(12) The media is advanced until the [PAUSE] key is
released.
(13) Release the [PAUSE] key when more than 1.5 labels
(tags) are advanced.
(Threshold setting is completed by this operation.)
(14) Press the [RESTART] key.
(15) The printer is in stand-by.
