Right will tighten it up Left takes it off
I had a real hard one and I put a block of wood or even vice grips to hold the blade from turning and used a pipe on my wrench to put more pressure and got it off that way. Squirt a little WD40 on the bolt as well may help Be careful you don't bust the socket. with too much pressure. I even heated a bolt with my torch to get one off.

What direction to tighten the nut on the cutting deck of a Swisher 44inch rough cut trail cutter?

If this is just a mounting bolt it will be right-hand threaded meaning that with you looking at the nut/bolt, the nut will turn clockwise to tighten.
Some blade bolts (and some old car lugs nuts are left-hand thread on one side of the car, as is the left pedal on a bicycle) are left-hand threaded and it can get real exciting til you figure out you hand to turn them counterclockwise to tighten

Changing blades on 2008 mtd rideon mower, are they left hand thread or just incredibly tight.

to remove the bolt or nut turn it the same direction the blade turns when cutting. This way the bolt tightens itself as it mows not back out and slip.

Does each blade turn counter clockwise to be removed?

All that I have seen are right hand threads. What make and model of mower do you have and how many blades?

Are the Cutting blades bolts for a John Deere LT 160 right handed thread or left handed thread?

It is typical to use right handed thread so you would turn them clockwise to install, and counterclockwise to remove. The blade rotates towards the cutting edge which is typically counterclockwise, so to remove the bolt, you unscrew it, with the handle of your wrench pulling towards the back of the blade.. These bolts can be really tight. Pull the spark plug lead or remove the ignition key so you don't get an accidental start. Wear gloves, there are sharp bits.

Does the blades have left hand threads or right hand threads when relacing the blades

The blade bolts have a normal right-handed thread orientation. But remember, when you are installing a blade bolt, the bolt is facing UP from the ground, not DOWN to the ground; hence the confusion.

Are blade mounting bolts left or right hand threaded ?

Right hand threads. I just replaced mine. The bolt will turn off in the same direction the blade turns when it is running.
