Question about Whirlpool Cabrio 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Plus Electric Dryer

2 Answers

When I push the power button the start button flashes on and off and touching start does not start the machine.

The start button flashes dimly, and not in the icon in the center of the button, like the start button on my whirlpool cambric washer, which is working fine.

Better call a certified Whirlpool appliance service shop and have a tech come look at it and possibly repair it.

.There's a tech sheet in that dyer, the flashing light is a possible error code. Have a look on the sheet what it means. Possibly an open hi limit thermostat. Check the vent in your house n see if its clogged up outside. but get a technician to get the thermostat replaced

I hit power button then start start light flashes and wont start

If your start button is flashing even when you hit your start button . Your electronic touch control board (ETC) is not working correctly . Either the intergrated curcuit board is not responding or the actuator on touch panel is broken . Push start button in and see if the button makes a clicking noise. If it does replace curcuit board , if it does't replace the part where you touch.

the power wires are connected to the motherboard?
Is the switch working correctly?
You can check that by opening the box/case, look for the 2 pins where the power switch is connected (with letters PW) and touch both with your screwdriver. If the computer turns on, your switch is bad. Im not responsible if you touch other pins and kill your computer. Has to be the power one.

Touch pad always lit up...

Yes, if the leds are all lit and no respnse, then your board in the top counsel is faulty. Have you haad any power surges recenlty.? Power surges sometimes mess up computer boards. But yeah, it sounds like its bad tho. There should be led light on unless you start pushing buttons. Have you hit the "off" selection. If nothing turns off the led lighting, it sounds like the board might be bad...hopefully this helps
