I have a Clarion car audio system. I want to use it as an outdoor system on 120v. What kind of power supply does I need? Does something else should I take care of?

Car stereos require power for both red and yellow wires. You can twist them together, then black for ground. Not sure about your power supply setup. A standard ac to dc should work. Run speakers externally. Usually white and grey wires are front left and right and purple and green are the rear. good luck

No activity on startup. Only fans spin up.. No video signal.

You may clean the memory board and video card connector with pencil easier and with alcohol the connectors and reinstall it. this will work. or you need to replace the power supply the orange wire 3.3v might be missing or red+5v, white-5v or the purple wire +5v

Emachines t3882 wont power on

The yellow wire carry 12 volt while the red one is 5 volt. But to check the voltage you have to unplugged all the four wires connectors (yelow, black, black red) and measure them one by one. If you say that they don't have any voltage on them then you have a faulty power supply. Replace it to solve the problem.
But if during unplugged your have the correct voltage read then it could be one of your device faulty. Normally your CD-ROM drive or floppy drive or HDD.

Motherboard taken out by eMachines Bestec power supply

I have not identified the specific components on the motherboard that blow, but I can tell you the defect in the Bestec supply. The +5 VSB, which is the voltage that is on at all times, loses regulation and climbs to 8-11 volts. I believe this "higher than the required" +5V takes out the components on the motherboard involved with the computer/power supply "turn-on" circuitry. The "on" button on the eMachines front panel no longer turns the motherboard on because the "kept alive when the main power is off circuits" - which allow the on/off button to do its job of turning on the machine - no longer work.
Test your Bestec power supply by plugging it in the wall socket and have it not connected to anything. Read the voltage between the purple wire and any black wire. If you see +5.0V, then this wasn't your problem. If, like it did on mine, is closer to between 8, and 11 V, this is what took out the motherboard.
