If it is a squirrel cage blower motor, it is likely to be wearing a bearing, or a loose connection.

If it is a regular motor, it could be a loose fan blade.

Why won't my carrier furnace come back on?model number 58rav095.It was running and heating, but makes a horrible noise on start up.Is it the motor going out?

If the noise is coming from the fan coil unit then it could be the blower motor. If the bearings are failing it will make noise on start up and run. But after a period of time it will overheat and the overload protection switch will lock it out to keep it from running until it cools down.

Blower motor made loud noise and now doesn't work

Hi
yes you are correct, it is the blower motor
make sure that you gonna check the cabinet filter as well
to avoid bits and pieces from going into the blower fan again

Amana heat pump emergency heat comes on but blower will not start. The call for heat comes in and the heating element(s) glow red for a few seconds and then there is a "click" and the heating...

Check the blower motor capicator. It should be mounted close to the motor with 2 wires to it (brown,brown/white).
Turn the blower on the thermostat and spin the squirrel cage by hand and see if it runs after by itself. If it does then definitely the capicator is bad .If it still doesn't run then check to see if there is voltage going to motor.
If thermostat is calling for fan and there is voltage present at the motor terminal then the motor is bad

How do i get to the ac fan motor 2000 jimmy

  1. Disconnect the VCM or the PCM.
  2. Remove the coolant reservoir.
  3. Remove the rear coolant recovery reservoir mounting stud.
  4. Disconnect the cooling tube from the blower motor.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector
  2. Remove the 5 blower motor and tan assembly mounting bolts
  3. Remove the blower motor and fan assembly
Reverse procedure to install. Don't forget that cooling tube. It looks useless but is very important to reinstall.

Nordyne Split System Blower Won't Start

It's the fan motor. A relay problem would cause the motor not to run at all.

Suspect programing error on Honeywell TH8320U in Aux cycle

Not making any sense. I don't think you have any programming error because as you said the blower DOES kick on, then begins to shut down before ramping up again. I would have to guess it is internal of the AHU. With that being said, you jump the aux heat and it works fine. I would check high and low voltage at the motor and be sure you are not losing anything when in normal operation. Then, possibly determine a bad motor????? Good Luck, got me puzzled too!!!

My 5 ton Goodman Heat Pump won't go into heat or ac mode. Fan won't turn on. No noise from compressor. System is 1 1/2 yeras old.

Easy: Turn the "fan" switch to on at the thermostat and see if the blower starts. If no start, check breaker at breaker box. Check service disconnect at or near the air handler. With the breaker and/or service disconnect OFF check the 3 or 5 amp fuse inside the top cover in the air handler.
Not so easy: (You must know what you are doing for this part or let an HVAC Tech do it for you) Open thermostat and firmly jump the Y and R terminals to see if you get the compressor to start for no more than 30 seconds. (don't do it more than once.) Jump the G and R terminals to see if you get the blower to start. If so, u have a bad thermostat. If not, check the transformer inside the same cover in air handler for proper voltage. (24V. Make sure you also get 220 on the opposite side of the transformer)
If the blower comes on, but the heat pump doesnt start, open the side cover of the heat pump, with the thermostat on cool, and the temp. setting as low as possible for at least 10 minutes see if the contactor is pulled in. If so, check the capacitor and see if it's blown out. Be super careful these systems operate with 220v and the amperes are enough to kill you if you make a simple mistake.

HEATER MAKING LOUD NOISES

Check the draft inducer motor for any partial blockages or dibri.

I've seen sticks, birds nest particles and pieces of deteriorating fan blades (squirrel cage type fans) cause this.

You might also find that the inducer motors bearing are going.

If its a loud vibrating grinding type noise, I'd suspect bearings or missing pieces of the blades. (unbalanced)
If it's a clanking type noise I'd suspect loose items hitting the fan.

The inducer motor will only operate right before and during burner operation, while the blower motor can operate at any time depending on your setting.
