Sounds like the thermostat is either defective or has a bad connection. If you are familiar with using a multimeter (volt-ohm-current meter), it would be the device to use to trouble-shoot this problem. MAKE SURE THE HEATER IS UNPLUGGED!!!

With the meter set on Ohms, and the heater set on auto, set the heater to its lowest temperature setting. You want to see no resistance (close to zeor Ohms) when check across the thermostat (the temperature knob mounts on it). If you see high or infinite resistance, the thermostat's open and therefore defective. If the thermostat checks out OK, continue checking with the meter. You should have about zero Ohms between the hot pin on the power plug (the narrower one in N. America) and the heater motor lead. If it's open (high or infinite resistance), keep the one meter lead on the power plug and trace back, checking each connection until you find the defective one. Don't rule out a broken wire, maybe inside the insulation (but unlikely).

My termost set to a/c, the fan auto, blow very well, but when I switch to heat and the fan auto, doesn't work, but if I put fan on work why?

the thermostat says to call for heat buildup in the work if its not cold enough the thermostat won't call for heat and I won't go on but when it gets cold and the thermostat set to the temperature you want or hire someone that doesn't cycle

Whirlpool model WC260A-1A cannot find manual and central air conditioner will not turn on worked well 2 days ago.

Does the fan turn on when you have it set to cool? does the furnace still work? Does the fan auto, and on options still work?(for example when on its on, when auto, and neither the cool or heat functions should be running, the fan is off)? Basicly i'm asking your to test your thermostat right now.

I have an evaportating cooler omega it only works on fan.

I would have the unit looked at. The auto section on the motor is turned on by the cooler automatically so there seems to be a problem there at that switch.

Good Luck on your repairs hope this helped some

Sounds like the Fan/Auto switch is not working or is out of the circuit. Do you have a Volt/Ohm meter to check the switch? Set the meter on Ohms on the lowest range, turn off the breaker, disconnect the leads from the switch, and put the probes on the connections to the switch. The reading will be near zero when you touch the leads to connections that are turned on by the switch. You can buy cheap meters at Harbor Freight ($5) or other discount places. If the switch is working, it has been bypassed somehow, or the wires are connected wrong. Did you recently install the thermostat?
