Question about HP 6440b Notebook PC - Core i5 430M 2.26 GCPU - 4 GB RAM - 160 GB H
Can I rectify this without changing the entire screen? Thanks
Usually not. The circuitry that drives the panel is integrated with the screen.
It's some work but those screens are serviceable and you can often find a good replacement on eBay at a fraction of the cost of a new HP part. A local small computer shop could probably swap it out for you in less than an hour.
