Error 05:09 in HP Designjet 800ps, what to do?

My HP Designjet 800ps gives the error 05:09, I consulted the service manual and says the following: "If this Error Code Appears on the DesignJet 800 Series Printer, Then the model number configured in the Printer is incorrect (the Printer thinks it's a DesignJet 500 Series Printer). In this case reconfigure the model number." The problem is that is only possible introduce the serial number and I'm already input it a million times and nothing. Every time I restart the printer it gives the same error. Could someone please help me?

Hi. This type of problem often happens when the electronics module or the ink supply station is replaced. The plotter ID is kept in both locations and when one is replaced, the plotter asks which was changed. If the questions is answered wrongly, the machine assumes the wrong identity. Is that what happened to your machine? If so, there is a fix, but not an easy one. If you still need some help with this, call me at 800-959-1575

I assume if you have the service manual it means you are going into the correct eeprom area to setup the model. It is possible that the HPGL portion of the card has failed, or the hardrive is bad.

Hello. My HP Designjet 800ps says "too little ink to prepare the ink system". I want to know if there is something that i can do to erase this error.

It sounds like the printer has been set to initialize as if new and thinks that there is no ink in the tubes so it wants to do a full prime. Other than replacing the carts and letting it run I am not sure there is another way.

Error Code 20:10 does not appear to be a valid code. Could you verify that is what is being displayed? What is the plotter doing when the error occurs?

I have a designjet 800ps 42" and send me the 79:04 error code, after this happen i change the belt and all the printheads, but it still send me the same error, it said Error Code:79:04 ...

Who told you to change the belt? 79:04 is a Firmware error.
Switch the Printer Off and wait a few minutes. Switch the Printer On again and check if the Error Code has disappeared. If the Error Code reappears, check for a new Firmware release. If the new Firmware release does not solve the problem, or if new Firmware release was not available, then contact the HP Response Center supplying the following information: - Model and Serial Number of the Printer. - Firmware release of the Printer
- The complete Error Code information, including the linefeed where the error occurred

My HP 800ps designjet is making a constant clicking noise near the ps card and will not print. I've tried everything from reloading driver & firmware to checking print heads and settings. Nothing seems...

Sounds like your power supply bit the dust. The power supply on this printer is similar to a PC power supply in appearcnace and is pretty easy to replace. You can download the service manual and take a look at the procedure if you are inclined to do the repair yourself or have someone do it for you. www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm

The part can be purchased here: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-643-designjet-500-510-800.aspx

try removing the jetdirect card and sending something direct via the usb port. if this doesn't work then you may have an issue with the main pca.

HP Designjet 500 System Error 71:06

Check the amount of RAM in the Printer using the Front Panel buttons.
install more memory into the Formatter or
try processing the file in the PC instead
of the Printer (select Avoid out of memory in Advanced options in the driver)
good luck.
