All washers have a time delay on the door lock, sometimes this unit burns out. Most washers have a cord to pull to unlock the front door this is usually accessible by taking the top panel off & searching for the cord.

My machine has stopped half way through the cycle, hasn't rinsed or had it's final spin and says DOOR on the display. The door is properly closed and now wont go on ant other program or fill up with...

Try a reset of the washers' operating sytem by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes and then plugging it back in. It may restart the cycle all over or it may do nothing and allow you toopen the door. If you do finish the cycle and/or get the door open, check the seal thouroughly to make sure there is no debris and/or coins in the seal. It would be a good time to clean the seal as well with hot water and a soft cloth if you have not done so recently.

Let me know if this works. If it does not , please let us know the make and model of your machine.

Im having trouble with my maytag neptune tl washer it wont finish the spin cycle

Please see the following Whirlpool / Maytag service manual for Neptune washers.
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/dc59d905140253e18525729c005765f4/$FILE/Maytag_Neptune_Washer.pdf

On page 3-1 the manual explains that if the washer shuts off during the spin cycle, the problem points to a weak spring in the door lock mechanism.

"Shuts OFF In The Middle Of The Spin Cycle:
During the spin cycle, the machine control
monitors the door lock mechanism to ensure
the door is locked. This is done through the
door lock enable switch. During "lock mode,"
the shaft of the door lock mechanism is
pressed forward by the door lock wax motor,
and the shaft presses in the button of the door
lock enable switch. If the machine control
board sees the switch OPEN during the spin
cycle, the machine control board will automatically
shut the washer OFF. This is caused
by a weak spring in the door lock wax motor.
Replace the complete door lock mechanism.

Door locked and will not open. i ran an empty cycle to see if that would work and it doesn't.....thanks! Margit

IF water is left in machine then door wont unlock, check pump, run drain cycle. If pump runs but doesnt remove water, then check filter at bottom (small door on bottom front) water will come out when this is done. If washer is completely empty of water and door locked then you may access lock release tab from bottom or reaching down from top to lock asm. Then check lock

WASHING MACHINE DOOR WONT OPEN

Call the manufacture it will be under warranty if it's only 6 months old as the machine will have to be torn down to get to the defective switch, just the top will have to come off if your lucky.

Can't Open the Washer Door---Our Clothes are held Hoatage

Check and ensure that the tubes and passages to the water level pressure sensor are not blocked by caked detergent, lint , etc.
( this may have caused the water overflow in the first place)
clean up the internal parts that are wetted by the overflow.

clean the door lock mechanism. ( this normally works on a temperature delay mechanism, if cleaning does not work, replace)

all the above done with the power unplugged and water inlets unplugged , of course

Door wont unlock

Try "end of cycle" button, & wait for a couple of minutes before u try the door; do not force door.
Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.

Door wont open

Try first to unplug the power cable. In case it will not help, you have to raise the top of the washer to get to the switch (near the door)and try to open it manually. If the problem will return, you should replace the switch. Good luck!
