Hi Rosemarie Pochron, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Removed what from your computer and who are you supposed to ask for your money back? Did you fall for a Malware fishing scam? If so try Malwarebytes free version and get rid of Norton as it didn't protect you in time obviously. Try AVG free or Avast free with Malwarebytes free and you'll be a lot safer!

How To Completely Remove All Norton Products

Use the Norton Removal Tool to remove a failed installation or a damaged Norton product. Note: The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products, Norton 360, and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

You may need your Product Key if you plan to reinstall your Norton product.
Click here for help finding your Product Key.

Completely Remove All Norton Products
  1. Download the Norton Removal Tool.
  2. Close all programs and run the Norton Removal Tool.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Restart the computer if asked.

My pavilion dv7 17" won't allow me to install mcafee anti virus

Before you can do anything, uninstall norton antivirus, go to control panel and click on it, a list of items will come up, when norton shows select remove and wait for the program to uninstall, and restart the computer, go back in and remove norton live update and any other program pertaining to norton. If you have windows 7 go to my computer and "click" on top select uninstall, and follow the outline above. Now you should be able to install the program.

Wondering why I was charged for the Norton service when I was never able to down load it, I had to have Dell remove what fragments were in my PC, I need my money reimbursed! I had already discontinued...

You may have been charged an automatic annual renewal fee. Go to https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do?product_lang=EN and login (if you remember your user name). You can cancel your account so at least you don't get charged again next year.

You can contact Norton directly and maybe they can refund your money.
Here is Norton's support page:

Hope that helps!

Launch Norton Internet Security via your desktop icon or the Start Menu (All Programs > Norton Internet Security folder) If Norton Internet Security doesn't appear in the Start Menu, it means the software was removed. 3.It is recommended to create a Norton Account in order to manage your Norton products, get the latest product updates and access special offers.
Enter your email address.

3.A. If you already have a Norton Account tied to this email address, you will be asked to enter your password 3.B. Why is my renewal via my computer not valid-Visa has been charged

Email Norton and tell them your situation, they will tell you what to do to fix the problem seems like a problem that's more there doing than yours.
Or
  1. Start your Norton product.
  2. Do one of the following depending on your Norton product:
    • For Norton 360: Click My Account, and in the My Account window, click Renew Subscription.
    • For Norton 2009 products: At the top right corner of the window, click Help & Support > Subscription Status. Skip to Step 6.
    • For Norton 2008 products: In the bottom-left corner, click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2007 products: On the product tab, click Support, and then click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2006 products: On the Help & Support menu, click Subscription.
  3. Click I have already purchased a subscription, check my subscription status.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Next.
Your Norton product checks your subscription status. This could take a minute or two.
  6. Read the information in the Status check panel, and then click Finish.
Your subscription expiration date should now be correct.
If this helps you out, feel free to leave positive feedback. Thanks for stopping at Fixya !

I am attempting to install Norton Internet Security 2009. My McAfee Internet Security 2008 runs out in two days. Norton has indicated that I will have to remove an amount of existing programmes (about 20!)...

Norton will not replace the programs.

As long as you have the program disc, just re-install them after installing Norton.

Back up all data (saved documents) first.

Windows is telling me i have a spyware infection and a trojan infection but norton wont load and im unable to perform a scan to find this?

I would like more details, such as; What OS, how is Windows telling you this, what is it telling you exactly, the name of the program that tries to load without you asking it to.

I already suspect that you are infected with a trojan horse program, it might be called various names.
One of the more common ones is Antivirus XP 2008. This is a fake program, they only want to get your credit info. Don't give them anything, if you already have, cancel it.

The other symptoms are; that you cannot open the control panel, change your screen background, go to Microsoft Update, as well as many other places.

The following is a trusted link to advise and help.
