The Defining part number is 2500-251; that is a Jacuzzu 'K' Pump and sorry to confirm, only a 1 Speed - NO HIGH, It's Not a 2 Speed Pump!

Strange. Was your old pump a two speed? They require 4 wires to hook up. A ground, a common (hot if on 220v), and two hot wires (one for hi speed, and one for low). I am unaware of a two speed system that runs on only a ground and 2 wires. Get a bit more info to us Thanks,Bill

circuit board wires?? the wires on the motor??,if there is white green black on the motor then it is only a 1 speed,if there is green white and black on the board of the spa, then it only calls for a 1 speed motor,if there is a red wire on the spa, then it takes a 2 speed,if there is a red on the motor then the motor is 2 speed

I took the pump out and repaced with a new one. The wiring lugs are different. the old one has White common, black low red High. The new one has no distinction as to what is low or high. How do I hook...

all US motors should have a wiring diagram on the side of the motor unit. The wires going into the pump would hold their same values. I am assuming the previous pump was two speed as well, if not that is your problem.
assuming that they are both two speed reference the common on the pumps motor diagram, and connect the white wire to that terminal.
reference the diagram for correct low speed and connect the black wire to that termial,
repeat for the high speed.
I deal alot with the flo master pumps and they should all be labeled. The most important thing is to get the common correct, switching the other two wires (black and red) incorrectly would simply result in high coming on when low is supposed to and vice versa.

If there really is not a diagram, here is the most typical setup for that motor.

(if you look closely at the terminals on the motor, there are numbers there)
connect the white common to terminal #5
connect the red hot wire to terminal #1
connect the black hot wire to terminal #2
connect the ground
done

Hope this helps.

I just purchaced a 4hp franklin spa pump. It is for a nuwave 2000 spa. The plug from the control panel has 4 wires, black, red, white and green ground. Where do the red, black and white wires attach on...

WHITE wire is your neutral so will go as blue wire.
BLACK and RED wires are your high and low speed for your pump.
I would plug red and black into either, plug in and turn spa on - if high speed comes on first then turn spa off and swap red and black wires round. the side of your pump or under top of control unit will give you a diagram of where high and low speed goes.

Replaced Single Speed Pool Pump Motor with 2-Speed Motor

You will need a two speed time clock to really take advantage of real energy efficiency savings. Intermatic makes one that fits in place of the original t104 time clock. You will need to run an additional wire to the pump as well. You will have the ground. Then one common wire that is always hot whether or not you are on high speed or low speed. You could make this a white wire. Then a black wire for your high speed that is energized in high speed and a red wire for the low speed. It is important that the high and low speeds not be energized at the same time, otherwise you will hear a very unpleasant sound coming from the motor, and failure and shortened life of the motor will be realized. Breaker keeps tripping when turning on pump.

The red and black wires if ran correctly are the load lines(power). The white is neutral or ground. If its a 1/2 to1-1/2 hp motor connect the red and black wires to terminals #1 and #4. If its 2 hp use #1 and #4. If its 3 hp use #2 and #4. Connect the white wire to the green colored screw. A grounding conductor should always be connected under the green grounding screw, which is located within the terminal compartment of the motor. You can check the breaker for the wire colors, one should be black and the other red. The white wire should be terminated to the neutral/ground bar in the can.

Replaced the pump, when tub was pwr'd on the new

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

There should be a cord from the motor that plugs into the control box for the spa. That cord should have 4 wires connected to the motor terminal board. The leads are normally colored White-black-red-green. White is neutral or line depending on voltage, green is ground, and the back and red are the hi and low speeds. The side of the motor should have a sticker that has the proper place to connect the hi and low leads. Look at those posts and note which color is there. Now interchange those two, so if black was hi and red low, make red hi and black low. Once done, the motor should go back to behaving normally.

Installing new flomaster xp2 pump. what color wies

Are you asking about the cord from themotor to the control? If so It should either be Green Black and white or all those plus a red. The green is the ground and it goes on the green screw. White goes to the common or line(1) post, and usually red is Hi and Blk low for the speeds. If it is a single speed only no red and black will go to the other line(2).

If this does not answer your question please post a comment with what wires and where you are dealing with.

The side of the motor will have a wiring diagram for how to connect the common, low and high speed leads. Your wire harness should have a white (common), black (usually low), red (usually high) and green (ground) wire. If high and low are backwards, switch the black and red leads.
