it may not be, somthing could be touching behind the screen or screws may have come lose on the front.or it could be what thay call the ,,inverter, that is behind the screen,or the screen has not been put back right if it was ever taken out.try putting a monitor with a vga cable and see if you get the lines on the monitor,if you do then it could be the inverter that needs looking at,if not just check all around the screen, check all screws around the screen, just take the rubber covers off and you should see a screw under each one..let me know how you get on.

My computer screen started to show horizontal lines a long time ago. It's not the computer, it's the screen because I had this screen on my computer and went to buy a new one. About 2 to 4 years later

Hr scello try to renew or install the screen card driver.

I think your pc is missing the driver.
When the driver is not correct or missing, you get a bad picture on your screen.

Visit the pc or graphic cards homepage insearch for the screen driver.

Good luck

Horizontal flashing line at the bottom of screen

I am sorry but, usually, that is the start of the screen's LCD failing, it will most likely get worse over time... This is caused by the "Driver" transistors failing....

Laptop screen issues

This is a bad pixel sensor. Your screen has hundreds of vertical and horizontal pixel sensors on the edge, if one goes out on either end it causes a dead pixel line through the screen. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to replace the screen. If you can live with the annoyance, I've seen screens last for years with a pixel line without any other problems.

Philips monitor problem

Check that the pc to monitor vga lead is not loose at both ends, check your graphics drivers are upto date, although it could well be a monitor fault and replacment required, as don't think they are worth reparing these days
