Since the back light can be manually turned on and off, you may have inadvertently turned it off. There is a light icon in the center of the screen on the top of the paperwhite. Just tap it and see if the brightness is turned all the way down. If so, turn it back up to a usable level.

How can i transfer amazon prime from kindle HD 6 to my ASUS notebook?

Amazon Prime is an account with Amazon, it doesn't belong to a device as such. If you are not using the Kindle any more, download the Kindle app onto your notebook desktop, so you can read your books etc.

How to Remove DRM From Kindle eBooks and Read on iPad Freely

"I recently purchased an eBook from Amazon ebook store. My sister asked me to share the eBook with her iPad. How can I do this?"- From Yahoo answer

Actually, it's easy to share the Kindle ebooks. Here I want to introduce two convenient methods to resolve this issue.

Method 1. Download Kindle App on iPad and sync the Kindle ebooks.

As we all know, the free Kindle ereader app is available on almost all devices and computer now. To read the kindle ebooks on iPad, you can download the Kindle ereader app from iTunes app store at first, then login with your amazon account. After that, you can sync all your purchased eBooks to this iPad automatically.

Now, your sister can read your Kindle ebooks freely.

Method 2. Remove DRM protection from Kindle eBooks

In the method 1, it requires you share all your Amazon account information with your sister. It's not appropriate for somebody. Then you can choose method 2.

As we all know, the reason that we can't read Kindle eBooks on iPad directly is that all Kindle ebooks are DRM protected and can be read on specific devices. But what would happen if we can strip the DRM from Kindle eBooks? The answer is apparent. We can read the eBooks everywhere we want.

Here I want to introduce the ePubor eBook DRM Removal and share the detailed steps with you.

Step 1. Add eBooks to this eBook DRM removal

Click Add button, then you can choose ebooks from local computer and import. Another way, you can also set the default library for Kindle ebooks at first. Click the "Settings" icon, and you can customize the Kindle file directory. After set, this eBook Converter will detect the kindle ebooks automatically for you.

Step 2. Choose output format

Click "Output" dropdown list, then you can choose any format you need. This eBook DRM Converter supports almost all common eBook formats, ereader devices, apps in the output. For reading on iPad, you can choose "Apple devices - Apple iPad" in the output.

Step 3. Click Convert to start eBook conversion

After conversion done, you can click "Open Folder" to find the converted eBooks.

That's all. So easy!

Kindle not working. It will not turn on blank screen

Make sure that the kindle is fully charged. When charging the kindle 3 will have a yellow light indicating that it is charging. When this turns green, your kindle is fully charged. Make sure your kindle is fully charged and then try turning it back on.

Kindle 3g screen is blank can get it back on

Make sure that the kindle is fully charged. Plug your kindle into the wall charger, a yellow light will light up. When the yellow light turns green, your kindle is fully charged. Then try turning on your device. If the device still does not turn on, hold the power switch for 15 seconds, this will reboot the device.

Not remembering my place in book suspect device is rebooting have heard of this problem caused by kindle cover (I have non lighted amazon leather version).

The lighted version gets power for the light from the hooks used to attach the device to the cover. Early versions of the non-lighted cover are reported to interfere with the hidden power connectors.

You can find out, by removing the cover and see if the problem goes away.

If you feel your Kindle suffers from this problem, contact Amazon Kindle customer support (go to HERE, click on "Kindle Support" in the upper right and on the next page find the "Contact us" button). According to other customers who had the same issue, Amazon replaces the faulty non-lighted cover for a lighted one at no extra costs.

Purchased used kindle it was reported losto r stolen. Is it possible to register it and use it?

If it was reported lost or stolen, this is for a reason. You should contact Amazon to return the device to its proper owner, and the police to bust the person that sells "lost or stolen" goods. You might even get your money back.

Hi there,

Kindle was designed without a backlight. The only way to read at night is to buy a book light designed for Kindle.
