Sensor might be bad of not in proper position and getting hit with light which make it go out then they come back on when its dark and on and off and on and off .

Just installed a motion activated light (model 021746). The light will not turn off; there is no switch.

in the installation notes , it probably reads to this effect
to run the light all the time --switch of power supply and switch on
to run a light sensor - turn the power off , back on back off back on
one action changes the internal program to leaving the light on , the other activates the sensor mode
the switch is the light switch that controls power to the unit

Just bought a new Malibu 120 runs a few minutes and shuts off repeat ly after reset

Malibu 120 has photoeye.
At night, the darkness causes photoeye to turn lights ON
Lights located near to the photoeye can cause the photoeye to 'think' it is daytime... so photoeye turns lights OFF...
Then it's dark again because lights are off... so photoeye turns lights ON.
The cycle repeats ON-OFF all night long.

My new bulb and sensor and my light recycles every 5 minutes. no lights disturbing the sensor

Product is not identified.
Plug into different outlet.
Buy new photo eye.
Cover photo eye with black tape and see if problem continues.
Check if light bulb is screwed in tightly.
Test outlet with circuit analyzer.
If this is Malibu timer, then photo eye wiring might be wrong.
Copy following link for malibu troubleshoot.

If this is a digital timer that also has photo eye on the same circuit, then timer might be wired incorrectly.

I have a Malibu ML88T timer on the garden lights. I guess the power pack is running can turn lights on off manually but the timer doesn't turn them off or on. Can this be repaired?

Is the timer wheel rotating - keeping time?
If so, are there pins for the wheel?
The other option is to purchase a photo sensor and let your lights stay on from dusk til dawn. The benefit of this arrangement is that as dusk changes across the seasons and daylight savings time, you don't have to keep adjusting on/off times.

'97 Malibu, dash lights don't work

Check your fuses. The dash lights are on a different fuse. Also check dimmer switch. If its not one, then it is the other. Try working dimmer switch quickly back and forth( with the lights on when it's dark so you can see if they come on).

My 2001 chevy malibu will not start

Try this before you go any further. Remove the battery cable for atleast five minutes, reinstall battery cable, try to start the vehicle, it should fire for about a second, when it does DO NOT turn the key to the off position, leave the ignition in the run position for five to twenty minutes, the security light should either go off or stay on, not flashing. Try starting. If this doesn't work contact a GM dealer and they can walk you through the reset procedure. Thanks and good luick with your repair.
