Initial setting is 1-1/2 turns counter clock-wise from lightly seated position and fine tune from there.

I have a walbro carb on a craftsman chainsaw..Can you tell me which fittting on the carb (TOP RIGHT) OR (BOTTOM LEFT) gets the fuel line with the filter on it??

All chainsaw primers pull fuel from the carb, so the fuel inlet ( pipe with filter on the end ) goes to the connection nearest to the pump cover of the carb ( the alloy cover with a single central screw )

How do you tighen a chainsaw chain?

Depends on the chainsaw. On most Stihl saws there is a screw between the two bar locking bolts that you turn clockwise to tighten the chain. On other saws the screw is in front of the housing that the bar and chain come out of and face into the housing, parallel to the bar. Clockwise still tightens the chain.

In both cases you have to loosen the nuts on the guide bar studs and then adjust the tension adjustment screw.

For more info go to the manufacturer's web site and download the owners manual.

42cc 18 inch craftsman chainsaw model 358-351910-18. Saw runs great at idle or while not cutting wood, when starting to cut wood just after the entire bar gets into the wood engine bogs down and chain...

Generally this is a fuel / air ratio problem. Usually it can be solved by a carb adjustment. On the carb there are usually two screws, one marked low or L , the other marked high or H. Low is your adjustment for idle mixture, high is for mixture at full throttle. The saw should Always be adjusted to run well during the cut. Make adjustments a little at a time, then try The saw. Continue small adjustments untill the saw is performing well at full throttle while Cutting.

Chainm has popped . How do I put back on?

On the right side of the saw, where the chain disappears into the housing, there should be one or two nuts. These are what hold the Bar and Chain retainer plate on. Remove these two nuts, and the plate, the Bar, and the Chain will come off.

Now, just to put the chain Back on to the Bar, all you have to do is to LOOSEN these two nuts, and either right between them, or NEAR them is a FLAT-HEADED SCREW. Turn this screw to either LOOSEN, (retract) the Bar, or EXTEND the Bar. So, retact the bar, which loosens the chain, put the chain back on the bar, slowly extend the bar, by turning the screw, so that the chain gets tighter, then tighten back up the two nuts.

The chain should have a small amount of slack in it when you are finished. If you tighten it up too much, then it won't freely move, and will prematurely wear out your bar.

Good Luck.

I have a craftsman gas chain saw model 358.352180. It leaks oil from underneath the saw even when not in use.

Make sure you drain the oil when storing your saw. That's because the saw is designed to supply a generous amount of oil to the chain and bar.
