If your printer is already connected and the PC recognized, go to your PC "CONTROL", select "DEVICES AND PRINTERS" on the drop down menu. All your devices will be laid out in front of you. Click on your Printer logo. After you put your work to be scanned face down under top cover, follow the instructions to scan. You even have the option to preview it before you press "SCAN".
Hope this is helpful.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

I AM ATTEMPTING TO USE THE SCANNER FUNCTION ON A CANON IR2230

Firstly, the machine must be connected to a pc or network. Secondly, you must scan the document to a pc so, after you have switched on, as you have, the scanner so that it says 'online' you will need to go to the pc and 'PULL' the document to the pc from the scanner. However, to do this you will need to have installed NETWORK SCAN GEAR on your PC inorder to SCAN. When you install the software, you will need to DISCOVER the scanner before it will be ready for use. So, a recap:

1. You NEED a program called NETWORK SCAN GEAR on your PC
2 Your ir2230 must be connected to a PC or network
3 You need to DISCOVER your ir2230 from your PC
4 You then need to INSERT picture FROM SCANNER and select your ir2230 from within a program such as WORD using NETWORK SCAN GEAR

Good luck

I press scan but nothing happens I scan on cannon Mp 160 and I cant scan with my pc

Make sure the scanner is connected to your laptop/PC before you press 'scan' and is turned on.
Pressing the scan option will start Canan's software MP Navigator for scanning. You can also start MP Navigator on your PC and then start scanning directly from your program or from the printer button.

HOW TO SCAN FROM SCAN TO BUTTON IN THE NETWORK FROM HP 2727MFP

You need to install the HP Scan software on each and every PC the MFP should scan to. In this software, you can create targets for the "Scan To" button. But: This is only useful when scanning with the ADF, because when scanning from the flatbed, you'd need for every page to hit the "Scan To"-button, press "Scan", wait for about a minute or two until the MFP has found the appropriate PC, and wait for the scan. So network scanning is unfortunately very limited with this machine.

Scan to pc

On my version of the hp software I can quite easily do this.

You will need working email software on your pc, so to scan the image, ensure that the pc is connected to the scanner and the pc is switched on - with all the HP scanning software installed.

Press the scan button on top of the scanner, with the document inside the scanner faced down.

When the HP Software pops up on the PC - the scanned image should appear. You can then click the email as attachment button in the HP software.

There are many ways to do this operation. So if you get stuck then let me know I we can go into more detail.

Please don't forget to rate.

Scanning from printer

This is a loaded question. First, make sure the folder youre scanning to has full permission and that it is shared. If its shared, the most common issue is that the password on the server has been changed. When a ricoh scans to a server or pc it asks for the password and login name of the pc or server. If it has changed from the time scanning was set up and can longer authenticate to the pc/server so your scans will not go thru
