I can't get the spool off my B&Q TRY25PGTA and Idon't have a manual

It doesn't seem to be a bayonet fitting or a screwed fitting,I can see some line inside but I can't get to it, Idon't want to break it so Iam reluctant to try the stilson method!

SOURCE: Black&decker GH 1000 trimmer. The line breaks when spool is full

Try using a thicker line when using the thinner line it is good only for grass if you should hit fence or concrete it will eat it up and you will be pulling it out every 5 minites or less.

Will the lenses I am using on my old school Pentax PZ1 SLR camera fit on Pentax digital cameras?

If the lenses are PK / PKA bayonet fitting, yes - if they are autofocus as well, this is a bonus, as that too should work. If they are M42 screw-fit, then you'll need an adapter, and all functions (zoom, focus, exposure) will be strictly manual.

I need to take this fitting out and replace with a bayonet one How di I take it off please

There is normaly a metal lip inside dat prevents the top half from getting unscrewed. Bend it in with a screwdriver and in de same time turn the fitting. After unscrewing the top halve you can pull out de contactor part and then disconnect the wires. Untherneed there is a little screw that prevents the fitting from getting lose. Turn it 1 or 2 times counterclockwise. Then you can screw off the bottom part of the fitting

My light bulb broke on the lamp and i can not take it off

If this is a normal domestic light fitting with either a bayonet or screw fitting then simply unplug the lamp at the socket then use a potato cut in half to either push down and undo a bayonet or push onto the remains of a screw bulb and unscrew it. Ensure the lamp is unplugged first and that the fitting is clean and dry before re fitting a new bulb

I have a trouble with my digital camera. When I put a lens on the camera I cannot get the shutter to open. I am using some older lens that I had for my manual pentax. Could this be the problem. When I have...

Hi Noodle
One of Pentax's strengths is that that you can use lenses from the late 1960s on them (via an adaptor). However, I'm assuming that you have a bayonet fitting lens - but as you say 'my manual pentax' could it be that they are not autofocus lenses?
If autofocus is switched on and you have a manual focus lens, you have to have something in focus in order for the shutter to fire. (with no lens fitted it doesn't seem to matter). Switch the camera to manual focus (where you can shoot out-of-focus stuff) and see if the problem is still there.
If it is then it spounds as though there is something amiss with the camera to lens coupling.

I have a cooker with a bayonet fitting that wan't connect the the wall because the wall has a screw fitting what part do i need to connect the cooker to this ?

Hello,
You need to check with your hardware store and get a fitting compatible with your fitting on the stove. This will have to be fitted to the wall pipe but I stress that this should only be carried out by a registered gas fitter.

Hope this helped.

Need to know if my cooker is a bayonet fitting

the bayonet fitting is on the end of the gas pipe that plugs into the gas main. look at the back of your cooker follow the black pipe you will see a brass end that fit to the solid gas pipe if you have a ring on the end of you flexible pipe that you can push in slightly and turn to disconnect you have a bayonet. its not the cooker that is a bayonet but the flexy pipe that is connected to your cooker. you can add one if one not fitted

Pentax ES2; do bayonet lens fit digital Pentax SLR?

Any Pentax K-mount lens will fit any Pentax DSLR. The DSLR will fire the shutter.  There is a menu setting (RTFM) which allows the use of older lenses, but you will lose some of the automation (again RTFM). Remember to allow that the effective focal length when using a "film" lens on a DSLR body goes up by 50%.
A standard 50mm lens becomes a 75mm equivalent, but stays a large aperture.

Changing interior light bulb in Whirlpool Frost Free 350,390 or 460 (per manual)

Hello davvyde,
Welcome,

You said, you have removed plastic cover for light bulb, as per manual supplied, but I cannot fit my fingers around light bulb to unscrew it. Is it clockwise or anti-clockwise and does the bulb actually screw into the white bayonet, or is that part of the overall bulb-structure? Not enough space to screw anything! Incidentally, I have a small hand and therefore small fingers.

What is the model number of your appliance.
Is the bulb intact or did the glass part come off and leave the metal base inside?

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM TURNING OR GETTING THE BULB OUT, BEFORE YOU US ANY THING OTHER THAN YOUR HANDS, UNPLUG THE FRIDGE!
  1. Whirlpool bulbs screw out counter in the counter clockwise position.
  2. If it is screwed in very tight try a rag, or towel in your hand.
  3. Or you may try a rubber glove which causes friction and may give you a better grip.
  4. Turn off the fridge for a moment while you do this, in case the bulb breaks in your hand
  5. If the bulb comes apart from the metal base, (AND YOU HAVE THE PLUG OUT OF THE OUTLET) You may be able to gently use a needle nose pliers, to little by little loosen the bulb up if it is stuck

I've never seen this before in a fridge.
Let me know what works?

Door light stays on...

The door light is controled by a switch that is mounted inside the body of the shredder and is operated by a bayonet type of prong that is attached to the door itself. The most likely causes are: the bayonet attached to the door has come off and the switch never is closed. The other possible is that the switch which is adjustable in most units has gone out of adjustment. If you look at the door and follow the bayonet's path, you will see a slit in the front of the unit the the bayonet fits into and if you look under the slit the screws that adjust the switch, one of which is in a slotted opening. Loosen the screw and pull the screw toward the front of the machine and that shouls cause the switch to be activated when the door is closed. The other possibility is that the switch is bad or the circuit board that the switch connects with is bad, and that's going to take the services of a qualified technician, and that means money. However, the simplest is ususally the switch. Let me know if this helps. Aloha, Bill Monroe
