You could try fiberglass resin and matting but as vpsoccer says. the cost may out weigh the price of a second hand one. if attempting it i would cut slits down the right and left of the bottom. use a heat gun to fold the bottom upwards, use a heat gun to fold the sides in then fiberglass. practice on a piece of card.

Cut off completely? You could probably try to reattach it in some way, but plastic is usually very difficult to work with. The cost and difficulty of trying to fix it, and the high likelihood of failure, meant that the best solution is to buy a replacement. There are always good deals on used canoes, or go to the store and get one that suits your need.

SOURCE: canoe has damage on the front bow.

Bondo would probably work.

Also, you could laminate a few pieces of something like vinyl siding/facia board over the hole. If the canoe is ABS, the vinyl siding cold be "welded" / fused to the ABS with PVC primer & solvent/cement.

The pivot point on the seats has broken on several

You could try "Mighty Putty" if you still have the pieces it works well to hold things together and is very strong.

Colman Canoe Bracing Gone Loosing Shape

Your going to have to replace the bracing, the poly plastic your canoe is made of needs it to retain it's shape. If its an older one the bracing should be made of aluminum tubing, you can buy this then cut to size shape and fit to your canoe. If its a newer one say made by pelican {they took over for coleman} its made of plastic this will prove to be harder to do. Either way its a big job

Bottom of canoe is cracked under the front seat almost all the way across can it be repaired

Is it made from plastic or fibeglass or alum?  For plastic or fiberglass I would try a very good epoxy. For alum. I would try to find some one to weld it. There are some very good epoxy's out now. 3m makes a panel adhevsive for auto use that will fix just about any plastic/fiberglass you may have.

Gear for canoes

Here's a list of some of the other gear we would suggest: - A sturdy roof rack on your car (it will greatly reduce problems and add to your enjoyment). - Bow and stern tie-down lines - these are critical to the safe transport of your canoe when you are on the road. - A set of wheels to make getting your canoe to the water easier. - A bailer and sponge. - Padded canoe seats for longer journeys. - Dry bags to keep extra clothes and snacks protected from water coming in off your paddle, as well as from bow spray or rain.

Aluminum canoes

Well-made aluminum canoes are rugged and most dents can be punched out. They are the ultimate no-maintenance canoe. Even when left outdoors all year, neither rain nor snow affects them and they will not take on weight with age. They are rigged with flotation air tanks or foam compartments to render them unsinkable. On the downside, aluminum canoes are noisy, tend to cling to (rather than glide over) rocks, and conduct heat and cold. Most aluminum canoes carry their beam well forward and aft so that they push rather than cut through the water. This hull design, however, makes them initially more stable and increases their carrying capacity.
