The French keyboard got activated by accident and we can't figure out how to turn it off back to english

OPEN CONTROL PANEL, THAN GO TO FOLDER CALLED REGION AND LANGUAGES, OPEN FOLDER OPTION KEYBOARDS AND LANGUAGES, select change keyboards
than select language and reboot.

ONLY IF THE INFORMATION ABOVE DOESNT WORK

look at the motherboard look for cmos reset, it is a jumper, you need to jump the connector or short the pin for a few seconds, by connecting the pin turn the machine on for few second the turning it off and removing the jumper, that will reset everything to manufactures settings. than just turn on computer and everything should work okay.
if you have problems than you will need to do a cold boot and push down the F10 key when start the computer to set up system again.
make sure save it and reboot and than everything will be okay
lets hope.

I accidently changed the language on my 205 series. I think its French but am not sure. How do I get it back to English?
  • On the page that shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP press TOOLS (The spanner symbol) in the bottom right corner
  • Press SETTINGS (the spanner symbol) or LOCALE (the blue symbol) on models that don't have a settings icon
  • Press LANGUAGE (the lips icon)
This brings you to a screen with 3 items on it. VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD
If it's in French you won't know which is which but it will show the language beside the TEXT LANGUAGE icon. Francais is the French word for French. To change the voice language press VOICE and select an English speaking name. To change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and select English or American English if you're in the USA.

This should solve your problem.

Hi, a French keyboard is very different to the English keyboard, so for writing in French I use goodle translate and copy and paste into i.e word. The alternative is to plug a french keyboard in place of the English one. Come back to me if this isn't helpful

Hello,
Yes you are right: it is a one time option. You can however install other languages. You will switch from the Canadian French keyboard to the US or English Canadian keyboard by pressing Shift Alt. You will console yourself if I told you that I type mainly in French, but the physical keyboard is US and I cannot even use the Alt + Ascii code to put the accents where due, because the laptop does not have numeric pad.

Accidently moved the arrow to french after rebooting my tv/ cannot get it back to English
If i were you id google a translator website to see what the menus say. or consult the manuel for the tv. also try tech support on the manufactures website. there should be a 1 800 number. Also you can try to leave the tv unpluged for at least half an hour to see if it will reset to english

FRENCH LETTERS SYMBOLS
Go to Control Panel and select 'regional and language options'
In the dialogue box that opens, click on 'regional options'
From the drop down menu, choose english (United States)
Click on 'OK'.
Your keyboard should function properly now.
