You could try taken out the cmos battery thats on your motherboard its the small round silver battery, leave it out for about 2 or 3 mins then put it back it might work.does not work on all laptops but its worth a try.
make sure you have tunrd off first.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Panasonic CF-51 Toughbook Fn keys don't work at all

The following website contains the needed drivers:

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pc/cgi-bin/itn/toughbook/dl01.cgi

Select your model of CF-51 Toughbook, but you MUST be specific. There are about nine variations of the CF-51 so you must use the right drivers.

Download the hkeyapp, hkeyset, and hotkey files and unpack all files. Use the default unpack locations. If you download the files for a laptop version that is not your own, when you try to run any of these files the computer will tell you that the file is not for your model. If the files successfully unpack then you know you have the right files.

For hkeyset and hkeyapp you must run the set-up applications in the unpacked folders.

Go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager and go to Other Devices.

The Hotkeys will appear as an "Unknown Devices" so if there is more than one, right click and choose "Update Driver".

Select "Install driver from specific location" and direct it to "C:\util2\drivers\hotkey" folder.

The computer will find the file and install the driver after which point you must restart the computer.

Hope this helps. It took me a while to figure this stuff out on my own so hope it speeds up somebody else's attempt.

SOURCE: need to reset or erase admin password

There are Linux password removal programs on the Internet. It is designed to remove passwords on NT, Win 2K and XP.
You copy the program to a CD and boot up from this CD. It allows you to reset or remove the users and administrator passwords.
Google search for these programs "password recover" There is another solution. You can reinstall windows and this will give you a clean computer and possibly better performance without the accumulated junk/rubbish. Don't forget to get/download all the device drivers (eg. video, audio, modem,NIC etc.) before you start.

SOURCE: Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 shutting down

Sue, it's not the inverter board. People who don't really know much about laptops will often diagnose them incorrectly, especially computer repair shops. The problem you're experiencing is most likely related to your motherboard. Unfortunately the most expensive part to replace on most laptops.

Your best bet is to probably just have any important files from the laptop extracted by a repair shop and then selling the computer "As-IS" on ebay. Or you could try another local repair shop to take a look at it. I wouldn't pay any money for a diagnostics since it would take most techs about 5-10 minutes to confirm what I just typed.

SOURCE: Toughbook CF-51 Sound

I recently tried a dual boot with Windows7/Ubuntu 9.10. I lost audio despite all efforts in both of those operating systems until I reinstalled XP.

Still I had no sound until I installed a correct HOTKEY driver off the panasonic web site. Apparently there is an important switching function by this driver (?!) that is required. BEWARE OF THIS!

Hi i have a passwpord on my laptop and i cant crack it i have tried removing the small battery inside but to no avail anyone help me out on this desperate my lap top is toughbook cf 15 thanks i have bios...

I think its HDD password you are talking about. Talk to its manufacturer they got technical knowledge to do it only that you gonna need papers before they hand it to you. If windows password there are many utility to got it working.

Or this alternative solution if it can be setup with a new hard drive.

Just for an input.
