This is connecting wires to the connection between power supply and robot wire. There are four pins, #4 is not used. but no labeling other than the numbers 1-4. Which color wire corresponds to which number. I need to solder the wires to the one side of the connector.

Hope this clarifies.

    The wires are Red & black & green, come from the circuit board J3, J4, and J7 respectfully.

If you are trying to hook wires up to a motor on a pool pump, and you gave a: black, white, and green, then you do have 115 volts.
there should be a label on the side of the motor, telling which positions accept which wires.

green will go right onto the motors case, there will be a green screw.
black wire goes onto a 'Line' connection, sometimes labeled - L1
white wire goes on second 'Line' connection - L2

I'm not sure what your question is - it's not real clear.
What I can tell you though:
Black = HOT wire
White = Neutral wire
Green = Ground

Do NOT mix these up - always connect the wires to their same corresponding colors.

I'm sorry if this doesn't help - you might try searching the issue by your model number on either google or youtube.

Not sure what wires you are talking about. Normally on a 115volt motor you will have L1 and L2 and a green ground screw. Black or red goes to L1 and L2 (either one). White goes to either L1 or L2 (either one) and the green ground to the green ground screw. These would be the incoming voltage wires.

Im replacing a 2 speed Hayward motor with a AO smith 1 speed motor. I need to no how to wire the 1 speed

to wire a single speed motor you use only the black, white and green wire. there is usually a wiring diagram on the side of the motor to show how this is done.
no wiring diagram then put the black wire on the L1 or H1 post and the white wire to the common and of course the green to ground

Wireing sta-rite MD#K48L2A1 WITH A STANDERD 115V PLUG RED,WHITE,GREEN&BLACK

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

I take it your cord is 3-wire plus a ground hence the 4 colors? If so you will only need to use white black and green. On the plug you should see a silver colored screw and a copper one; black to the copper and white to the silver. Green to the green screw and the plug is done.

Connect the white and black wires to the motor L1 and L2 terminals. It does not matter which color wire goes to which line terminal as long as only one wire is on each line terminal.

Ground the green to the green post in the motor and be certain you set the motor to 115 if it is a dual voltage unit that can be switched to either incoming line voltage.

How to wire 1/2 hp115 volt with two black wires and green

Green is always ground. This gets connected to your equipment grounding conductor which is either green or bare copper. The other two black wires would connect to your black and white wires. Make sure the pump is labeled fot 115V. You didn't list your exact model number. Since this motor is for submerged operation, it does not have the neutral conductor bonded to any part of the motor. It is not polarity sensative. You can view a manual here: http://www.waynepumps.com/images/pdf/manuals/340600-001_0806.pdf

I just bought a AOSmith 1hp pool pump. I do not

Well first did you have an old one you're replacing? Check it. Second you could test your voltage with a tester (best idea then you know for sure). Third, you can look at the circuit breaker in your panel, and if it is a single breaker , it is 125V If it's a double pole breaker (two wide with wide handle) then it's 230V. Usually if it is 230V then the wires coming to it would both be black, or black and red, with a bare or green ground. Usually if it's 115V you'll have one black (hot), one white (neutral) and one bare or green(ground) but at times someone will wire one 230 with black and white. There should also be a large bonding copper jumper connected to a lug on the outside of the motor to bond your system to the pool (NOT AN EQUIPMENT GROUND)

One to each line. Be sure you set the motor to the same voltage as the line you are connecting. They are 230V out of the box and your wire colors indicate you are likely connecting the pump to a 115V line.
