Question about Sharp Aquos LC-15E1U 15 in. LCD EDTV
My 15 month old Aquos spontaneously lost the picture while viewing. I still have sound but no picture. I have tried unplugging for 24 hours per Sharp advise. I've reset the unit. No luck. I took it to an ASC 1 1/2 hours away and they called to tell me they can fix it for a mere $600.00. They say its the "main controller". I am skeptical of this since I have sound. I even have a color change when I turn on the TV. What I'm trying to say is you can tell from looking at the unit if it is off or on. Any suggestions?
I too have an Aquos.
Do you have cable? I've had this crop up repeatedly, except that I can unplug the cable box and/or tv from AC power, leave it that way for a minute, and then plug in again. So far, this has worked. My suspicion has been on the cable equipment. This happens far more often on the HD channels than the others. Recently, had a really good cable tech come to the house, and trouble shoot problems with signal strength. He may have fixed it...time will tell.I really hope it isn't the TV, as it is out of warranty.
