Question about GE Washing Machines

1 Answer

My GE front load washing machine is stuck with the panel locked. The lock/unlock button isn't working. Any other way to unlock the panel?

The board is going bad, and the buttons have been iffy for a while. This latest situation with the lock button won't let me use the machine.

The door is open on my ge front load washer but it says it is locked. Door wont close and I cant get anything to work. I tried shutting off the power for about 5 minutes and this did not help.

You should be able to access the door lock from the bottom panel. Unplug the machine and open bottom panel reach up on the side of the lock. It should have a tab or pull hanging down that takes a little pull to unlock it. Do that and see if it'll unlock. If not you might just have to buy a new door latch/lock.

GE WBVH6240FWW front load washer is locked at the keypad and wont unlock. tried to hold the unlock button in for more than 3 seconds and still wont unlock. even tried turning power off and unplugging the...

my machine is doing the same exact thing (WBVH5100HWW). Day 3 of not being able to unlock it. It just "clicks" like it's in lock mode. I even unplugged it, no luck. Even when you turn the machine off, the motor running, but nothing inside the barrel is happening. It just makes that annoying "beep" noise stating that it's locked. I've had nothing but problems with this machine and it's just barely over a year old. I just found out that there is now a recall due to fire hazzard.... so, FYI.... here's the info:

if anyone has any suggestions, I am ALL ears. So frustrating. (thanks).

GE front load washer, wbvh5200j1ww. no power.

the door can be manually unlocked by removing the bottom front panel, reach up and there is a pull tab on the lock mechanism. it is a crime that they do not post this online or in the manual, and let folks ruin their clothes.

power problem was a part called the "FILTER" it is where there power cord plugs into, something along the lines of part number 201. cost is $85 plus tax. service man has not seen one of these ever go before.

Washer load became imbalanced and forced door open, now cannot close door, lock stuck and washer will not run

Perhaps you have to change your lock, this is a sensitive point & will affect the smooth operation of your machine. Re. the inbalance, you hv to screw up & lock the front 2 legs (with check nut), adjust the front legs (screwed up) only to see if the machine does not move during wash/spin.
